Those are too long for me. I prefer mine bitesize. I found one I can follow and I'm sure there will be more around in due course. All I want to know now is a release date for the PC version.....

Happy release day squad! Playing it rn and I'm so so so happy!!! And someone said happiness has no price? Yes it does, costs 70$ lol worth of every penny!!! When I thought remaster was already perfect, this remake takes it to the next level! Joel and Ellie look so good, just want to hug them lol Get it now!!! It is important to support your favorite IP and companies! Hope artists behind it will get a good paycheck and thick coin will be tossed. Ppl who complain about the price, forget how much work and time is put in these things.Highly recommend.
Yea nah. I’m good with the ps4 remaster. Everything to me looks like the same game with a new coat of paint added. I mean if you wanna pay 70 for that cool but I definitely understand those that don’t want to spend 70 on a game they played already and still holds up to this day. I’m sure Sony won’t lose sleep over the loss if nobody buys this. They need to be more focused on the ps5 situation.

So yea the complaints about the 70 dollar price tag is warranted cause for me personally this isn’t a remake just more of a new glossy finish with minor tweaks. Don’t know why people are so aggravated that people don’t want to pay 70 dollars for it. If you wanna get the game again then go for it.

Well, it is a remake.
If people don’t want to pay that much to replay the story again sure, no reason to begrudge that.
I’m looking forward to playing it but I’ll wait for a £10 discount

But it is a remake, that’s not subjective :lol

Yea I don’t see it that way. It’s fine if some of you guys do . Just a game with a shiny new coat and a few tweaks. I just keep comparing this to the remake for resident evil . That’s on me tho. Not judging those who want it but I’m just saying

The fact remains it was remade/rebuilt, not just upgraded textures like a pc mod. This isn’t just GTAV or Skyrim rereleased with tweaks.

I think the price is ridiculous for what we're getting, it's just a new lick of paint essentially. If I were in their position I would charge the same, as people want to play the improved version. At the end of the day they can charge what they want. Is still a cash grab

I finished watching a playthrough of the original, just to see if it was as good as everyone made out, and it was! I loved it, and it's one that I know I will actually play. I've started watching a playthrough of the PS5 version and I can really see the differences. Now the resolution is higher, things like subtitles and the UI are less obtrusive than they were when there was only a 1280x720 canvas to play with. The controls are entirely rebuilt and are more designed around a Dualsense, where you use the trigger to fire a bow instead of the shoulder button on the DS3 and 4. The character models are redone from the ground up and look way more lifelike in terms of the bodies and faces.

Even if you have already owned and played it, I think you'll still get a kick out of revisiting it now it looks the way the devs always intended without the limits placed on them by the tech of the time.

Well this remake is made for the fans and new gamers who haven't played it yet, so I can't understand the point of complaining, if u are a fan does it really matter if the game/figure cost 20$ more or less? Probably not,bc when I'm passionate about something it doesn't really matter, especially now price isn't as high. For ppl who doesn't care about it they still can play remaster which looks amazing as well. I see no problem there. Let ppl be happy, because u don't want to pay 70$ that doesn't mean other people can't be excited or happy. And if someone still wants to experience it,I'm sure price will go down around Xmas.
There is a different between fans and casual gamers. I'd gladly pay 200$ for the Witcher 3 remake in unreal engine 5. Not bc I'm rich,I'm not. I just love these things too much and joy I get from these is priceless.

I never played the game cause I don't own a console but looking forward to grabbing it in my pc
Hopefully part 2 comes to pc too I really like Ellie's look in part 2

So just because your a fan you have to pay for whatever they put out? What kind of logic is that? I’m a fan of the game and I just don’t wanna spend that much money on something I played already. And if you want to pay 200 for updated graphics then go ahead but that doesn’t make you a true fan at all. I’m a fan of many things that I don’t agree with what they put out. DC for example

Nobody is saying you can’t be happy but you getting irritated that people don’t want to spend 70 on a game that they played already is silly. Not everyone wants to consume each product that is thrown in there face. That shouldn’t bother you. If you want to pay whatever amount of money for something you played before go right ahead but it’s completely understandable why many don’t .

Me too,

I'm pretty certain the game will be a smash for PC and the sequel will maybe get done some time next year.

Absolutely, because you have played it already, they need to sell this remake for 20$.

I saw TLOU P1 in a brick and mortar shop the other day for £69.99 and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The game itself aside, it's rather miserable knowing that standard editions of games go for that kind of money these days.

I distinctly remember getting the collector's edition of the first Mass Effect for £40. Big tin box, art book, the lot. Now look where we are.

I've been playing Part 1 for the past few days and I absolutely love it, going through this story again with these characters I love with improved gameplay and realistic graphics is like a dream come true, I still have some minor issues with it and I'm disappointed that certain gameplay mechanics from Part 2 didn't make it over but the game feels so much more smooth to play now that I'm still having tons of fun on New Game +, there's a bug here and there but nothing game breaking.

Also I'm thrilled they didn't change the story and kept it exactly the same, it it's not broken then don't try to fix it, a lot of moments hit much harder with the insane new animations and while the journey remains the same the immersion is something else, you just feel more involved in everything now, both the main game and Left Behind just hit so much harder now with the more human models and realisitc graphics, moments like these are just breathtaking, I had to let Joel and Ellie enjoy it for a bit...

The new accessibility options and cheats are also welcome additions, as well the new skins which finally give you the chance to play as Joel as he was seen in Part 2, not playing as Joel was one of my biggest issues with that game and now that is finally rectified in Part 1.

If you love the original game and these characters then you're gonna love this, if you got $70 to spare and want to expirience this story again then this is definitely worth getting but I would recommend waiting for a sale if you're not in a rush.

On the topic of price I get that $70 is less than ideal but disregarding the work that went into this and calling it a "textures mod" just because it isn't a "true" remake/reboot and you don't like the price is completely disingenuous, people unhappy with the price can always wait for this holiday season when it will inevitably go on sale and if you never plan on getting it then just let it be instead of going up to everyone enjoying this to moan and call the game "unecessary" and so on, those comments are also "unecessary", live and let live I say.

To close my thoughts on Part 1, I've played the original game a LOT of times and it will forever have a place in my heart but I'm not sure I can ever go back to it after expiriencing this version it's really the definitive way to expirience this game and journey in my opinion.

Blows my mind. Buy what you want, spend as much as you're comfortable with to make you happy...

... but this is totally a cash grab. It is sold for more than either previous release of the same game. It is 'built from the ground up' insofar as it has been made in the TLOU2 engine, a game that also cost less than this. Multiplayer has been cut. They're selling you a new one later. If it was made for the fans, you'd think Sony and/or Naughty Dog would respect that those fans have probably paid full price for it twice already and do something about that. They didn't. This is being made for money (as always). It was easy to put together and will promote the upcoming show. Why not also charge as much as possible? They will have figured enough people will pay it, but I don't get why people need to defend it. It's obviously not the same as a brand new release.

It's wrong to say this is just a remaster. But it is also wrong to over-hype how much of a remake it is too. The game lies somewhere in the middle. A huge portion of the work for this is recycled from the sequel. There has been care put into this no doubt, and I wouldn't have approached it another way. That said, this is not a project that required the resources of a full priced game from Naughty Dog. You only need to look at how quickly this came together to see that.

I am genuinely glad people are enjoying this though, and it does look good. Watched some extended comparisons and the visual improvements are undeniable. I'll play it one day, just in no rush, and don't feel it's worth the asking price. Voting with the wallet and all that.

I’d say that games like resident evil, dead space ,final fantasy 7 are remakes. Games that are literally remade from what it was originally. I look at this an an updated version and it’s fine if you want to pay for that cause it does look nice but getting mad at people who don’t want to spend 70 on it and saying that this was made for the fans is beyond silly.

But it IS a remake, just because you don't like it and don't want to pay for it doesn't mean that it isn't one :dunno. Those games are far older and required much more work to bring them up to modern standards.

If there's anything it seems to be closest to, it'd be the Demon's Souls remake. Gameplay remains similar/the same but you get significantly improved visuals plus some QoL. The issue arising from that comparison is that the original DeS is quite dated visually and somewhat lacking in detail, which allowed Bluepoint to go ham with making it look like a different take on the same core visual ideas. With TLOU P1, it seems more like a straight fidelity upgrade imo, and the question I end up asking myself is "what in that justifies £69.99?"
