It’s based on a theatrical Japanese Hannya mask, which is exclusively representative of a female demon of obsession and jealousy.

So it’s a bit strange to me that it’s been merged with Maul, but the imagery does often gets co-opted.

From what I understand the mask in red symbolizes "pure evil" which could maybe be why they went that direction? Not totally sure.

Either way an Oni/ Hannya inspired Maul seems pretty cool. No doubt them riffing off this idea.

I picked this guy up and he's on the way. I'm going to steal these poses for sure. I'm glad to have my vehicle centerpiece in my display now. I was going to do Anakin and the STAP, but this is way cooler and more iconic.

Congratulations! It’s really an incredible piece! Only thing that’s somewhat annoying is that the outer robe has SUPER lightweight wires in it that can’t hold a pose. I picked up some armature wire that I’m going to use this weekend and hide under the outer robe to make it look like it’s blowing off to the side and make it a bit more dynamic.

I put Maul standing off to the side because the speeder is just to awesome to have him blocking it.

Amazing pics!!!!

1 thing i always struggled with was getting the Speeder to balance on that clear pole.
Thanks!
You definitely have to force that rod into the base deep. It at first seems like it wants to stop and is extremely wobbly. But then you want to apply almost an uncomfortable level for force and it plugs deep into the base.
Then as far as the speeder, it slides right in. I suspect maybe the clear rod on yours may not be plugged in all the way. 🤔

This was one I slept on when it was available, regretted, then bit the bullet this week and got him in the after market before he got any pricier. Definitely glad I did, I'd thought about going for the Clone Wars version instead as my collection representation of Maul since that one's still available for a lot cheaper than this, but just couldn't get past how much better this one looked to me. Might be one of my favorite head(s) on any HT.

Sure thing. That is a figure that I made a few months ago. I sculpted both the head and the arms. The head was made from a dremelled down sideshow deadpool, and the arms are just sculpted over. Made the robot legs from a deco nstructed phasma shin armor and some aves apoxie svulpt. My sister made the clothing.. she is good at that sort of thing
