Nope, never had the Sideshow version for comparison. Just the Scout from SS.

Once set up, its pretty incredible. I didn't have too much time to get a really solid pose. Getting everything out and put together was a bit of a chore. Those fern leaves on the base and those tiny little levers on the dashboard drove me crazy; and there's minimal instruction. Then of course trying to get the Scout seated, able to hold at least one handlebar AND have both feet on the pedals... it takes some time. Patience... and give yourself a couple hours just in case.

But then, once done, in hand, it's fantastic.

The weathering is present and shows to the naked eye. The bike itself is scraped and dinged. The "pack" on the back will need some weathering though. The boots are so soft they are almost like thin socks, so be careful when posing or you'll end up with a vacant-looking ankle. The complicated handlebars are fun to fiddle with but it has me curious which way everything is truly supposed to go. There's actually a left and right handle that are different so be wary, and lots of bits to twist and turn. I'm still trying to sort if the wires go in front or behind the handle. You'll understand when you have it in hand.

I don't like bases but in this case it is absolutely necessary obviously... and fortunately it works really well and the greenery bring in the Endor flavor. Displaying this at a high level -- like top of the detolf -- so he can appear to bank and swoop down in your direction seems like the ideal placement.

This thing makes me want other smaller "rides".
Nice review and thanks for the tips.

I was a little worried about the ferns cheapening the base a bit. Always liked the Sideshow rocky/mossy base and the Mando one is kind of minimalist in a good way.

My scout/speeder arrive on Monday. Hopefully no handle bars missing or serious box damage.

I was surprised by the lack of flexibility as well, but this improves a little bit with some changes to the fat suit. The fat suit is across the entire body so it bunches up a lot around the joints. I removed the sections near the joints and the mobility improved. Here is my best attempt so far to achieve that “jockey” position:

That looks really good there. This was basically the best I could get with the Mando scout on SS bike. Still too much like he's casually riding a bicycle.

Im interested in just the scout trooper without bike. Then I see the base and just keep rethinking it.

Indeed. I have to be prudent when it comes to non key characters as Im a teacher and funds are pretty limited. That said, I would need to order a custom base for the trooper and cost wise it starts to approach the cost of figures that I consider essential and upcoming. Bespin Luke, BD Vader.

👏👏That’s closer than I’ve been able to get so far. Although for me I would like to get the rear end actually touching the seat and have his back curved up a bit more rather than arched if that makes sense. Do you think removing the fat suit completely would enable this? And also would you think removing the fat suit completely is doable or a complete nightmare?

The first thing I did was completely remove the fat suit, however, when I reassembled everything the jumpsuit was WAY too loose. After that I basically cut the arms off and the legs below the thigh and it looked way better. I ultimately settled with adding a small bit of the padding at the shoulders and below the knees. This basically removed the padding from most of the key joints but I think it also evened out the proportions.

The pictures I posted were my first attempt the get him on the bike so I’ll try again this weekend.

Is the price too good to be truth?
It is too good but I think it’s legit. Justin’s collection purchase all his figures from Toys Wonderland. I just ordered the single Scout (to go with my speeder bike version) for ~180 USD shipped to Canada. I’ll report back when it arrives.

The bland base might be boring. But you can add to it yourself, just get a bit of wood/dry roots, a small plastic plant or two, a rock or two, or a combo of the above and put them on the base

I rolled the dice with them. Since our government put a soft barrier of 150 euros for imports, I POed a Shoretrooper for 114USD. I also chose a ground shipping for 1-it's cheapest, 2-I'm in no hurry, 3-wanna see how much it will be beaten.
Based on results, I'll continue with such offers from them.

I am starting to get bothered by the "Pac-Man" effect of the bike... is there any way to adjust that? I have the set preordered.

Finally took my single Scout out of the box. Good looking figure!
I will say the figure is very stiff, or at least mine is. Must be hell for those of you displaying him on the bike. Also I noticed the figure is a little on the tall side compared to my other troops. Not a big deal, guessing it has to do with him looking right on the bike. Here’s a few pics of mine in my display.
