My cousin recieved his scout and bike set today in Ireland.
Mine still hasn't charged. $200 customs charge to receive it so I'm not looking forward to that additional bill

Got mine yesterday and the box was beat to hell too. Both outer and inner. Luckily the figure was fine. I'm not even going to bother contacting Sideshow since I know it's a futile task.

Has anyone mentioned that the forrest ground graphic for the base is an actual sticker? As in, peel and stick sticker? I checked some of the online reviewers and none have mentioned it.

Yeah I would have much preferred the molded dirt footprints base with the extra Endor plants that came with Leia and Wicket.

Yeah. The stand this guy comes with is terrible. I know most don't like the sand/footprint stands, but I actually do. I bought a Mando Scout Trooper stand for this guy some time ago.

Mine was delivered yesterday. Gotta do some rearranging as to where he's gonna go. I also gave him a pair of the Mando Tusken Raiders binoculars I bought parted out as well.

Here's a crappy cropped phone pic.

Prefer this bike but I surprise myself in preferring the Mando version skowt, the weathering and costume design on that one i really like - the upside down knee pads and saggy chest are very pleasing to me.

Congrats, Wor! :clap What are your thoughts? Do you still have the SS as comparison?

Thanks!

Nope, never had the Sideshow version for comparison. Just the Scout from SS.

Once set up, its pretty incredible. I didn't have too much time to get a really solid pose. Getting everything out and put together was a bit of a chore. Those fern leaves on the base and those tiny little levers on the dashboard drove me crazy; and there's minimal instruction. Then of course trying to get the Scout seated, able to hold at least one handlebar AND have both feet on the pedals... it takes some time. Patience... and give yourself a couple hours just in case.

But then, once done, in hand, it's fantastic.

The weathering is present and shows to the naked eye. The bike itself is scraped and dinged. The "pack" on the back will need some weathering though. The boots are so soft they are almost like thin socks, so be careful when posing or you'll end up with a vacant-looking ankle. The complicated handlebars are fun to fiddle with but it has me curious which way everything is truly supposed to go. There's actually a left and right handle that are different so be wary, and lots of bits to twist and turn. I'm still trying to sort if the wires go in front or behind the handle. You'll understand when you have it in hand.

I don't like bases but in this case it is absolutely necessary obviously... and fortunately it works really well and the greenery bring in the Endor flavor. Displaying this at a high level -- like top of the detolf -- so he can appear to bank and swoop down in your direction seems like the ideal placement.

This thing makes me want other smaller "rides".

Just wondering if everyone who placed an order with Sideshow and also paid in full has got their notice to pay for shipping? Or did I hear about a second batch shipping in September?

I'm on the September list. Must of made some enemies with the cs department at some juncture.

Thanks!

I finally got mine out of the box today. I’m really impressed with the sculpt compared to the sideshow version it’s a definite upgrade. Unfortunately what let’s it down is the lack of flexibility in the joints and clothing. I’ve tried for hours to get the figure to sit “naturally” on the speeder but you can’t get anywhere near that studio horse jockey type pose. It really lets the figure down in my opinion as I was really looking forward to displaying him in a crouched “ acceleration speed pose. So I’ve put my SS scout on the speeder which you can get in a far more satisfying crouch / sitting position. My HT figure will now be in a separate display. I’d say that straight out of the box the figure is an 8.5 / 10 but the frustrating articulation drops him down to a 6.5 which is disappointing, as the articulation should have been thought through a lot more.

This was a grail figure for me. Slight inaccuracies aside, this is the best we’ll ever get. I modified the fat suit underneath, which I think helped with the proportions, but I still have some futzing to do. Hoping to take some better pictures this weekend with both speeders

This is bad to hear. This is the pose I was going to shoot for as well. It's just so iconic, you have to do it. But if he can't bend the proper way, what's the point. Is this other peoples experience as well?

Wonder if a fat-suit removal would help with that? I'm assuming this figure has one as almost 99% of HT figures do.

I was surprised by the lack of flexibility as well, but this improves a little bit with some changes to the fat suit. The fat suit is across the entire body so it bunches up a lot around the joints. I removed the sections near the joints and the mobility improved. Here is my best attempt so far to achieve that “jockey” position:

It is definitely a challenge to get the Scout posed on the bike. I'm still not wholly satisfied but I think I can get there without chopping up the fatsuit (not that he needs the fatsuit -- just as soon have it gone).

I don't think I will be able to achieve the "acceleration pose"... but if you like the "pistol pose" then that is fully achievable.

Great pics, xdrewvaughn. Overall that pose isn't bad. That side pic reminds me how much that helmet gap bothers me. One extra step HT, that's all it would have taken. :slap
