the answer is simple; just get some real artists to create sculpts and clothes, and voila; a ****** recaster will steal their hard work and promo a figure using actual custom clothes that you will not receive when you get your turd of a figure.

also people should know the photos shown here are if the real work that these fine fellows stole from so if you think you’re getting something that looks that good and won’t be total crap in the end, think again.

Also people complaining about “artists” being ripped off there’s one question that needs answering. Did they pay the movie studio or Brad Pitt for his likeness rights? If yes it’s stealing,if no there’s no complaining. It sucks yes but they’re not exactly saints either.

It looks good because you're looking at pictures of the custom figure.

At the very least, you could acknowledge the work of the people that created the figure. But instead you, and people like you, thumb your nose at the people actually DOING the work, and call them thieves, meanwhile you give money to the people who are doing the thieving.

It's absurd.

I don’t have a horse in the race…but as long as there are people willing to charge $2000 for an action figure (not questioning the value of the artist’s time or artistry…but 2k is what it is) there will be a market for people willing to accept a recast, lower cost alternative…Rainman Bill the Butcher looks better than Redman Bill the Butcher…but at literally 7% of the price, that Redman figure starts to look pretty good.
Most will always be more focused on supporting their own bank accounts than the bank account of an artist that they don’t even know.

Supporting recasters or not, that's a personal choice of each buyer. I admit i preordered the Present Toys' Indy and Dark Toys' Deckard. Feeling guilty, but I can't afford customs at the moment.

One thing should not be up for debate. Using the actual photos of the customs in their promo shots automatically makes Present Toys, Dark Toys, Redman Toys, Black 8 and every other brand of recasters, one thing and one thing only: scammers.

So in that way, not even getting into the "ripping off people who didn't have a license in the first place" argument, these figures ARE A SCAM.

Just found these on IG. It seems to be the Black 8 figure. Accessories are stunning, clothes are ok, sculpt is way off, it seems they didn’t even recast the Gesus studio one.

Yep that’s still the recast of the Gesus studio one.

what always gets me is people expecting the custom work from promotional pictures. seeing such amazing paintwork and all of a sudden everything takes a plummet in quality. i hate how misleading that is for people. about only 5% custom collectors make up 1/6 figure collecting, if not smaller. aware that these figures are a bunch of recast with pictures of the real deal and people are mislead into buying it, thinking they'll get a quality product. i swear there are times ive told people that mars toy's gus is just a recast of visceral plastik's work, same for mike's but they can believe whatever mars toy is telling them, that its their own sculpt. its baffling.

i dont personally mind what people spend their money on. whether they add a redman figure into their custom collection or not. just know what to expect instead of being mislead into believing you'll get something close to what was shown. when mars toy showed that prototype paintwork for their bruce done by rodman. 99% that is not gonna look like that once done and sent to customers. not a resin sculpt, not professionally painted. i only really hate it when they trick customers into thinking they'll get what was on the pictures.

Thats not too shabby at all for the price.
