Did a quick peak of the figure and the head sculpt is amazing. Definitely HT's "A Team" assigned to this one.

VERY cool having another Imperial uniformed figure, too.

HT work on the Mandalorian line has been really terrific almost top to bottom. There have been some real standouts like Mando himself, IG-11, Heavy Mando, Sarlaac Fett, and Moff Gideon here. The only figure I think I was a little disappointed in was the Tusken Raider because of the clothing and boots but even that figure was decent overall.

I definitely agree with you. Yep, the Tusken Raider had those head-scratching negatives but overall, a good release. (I ended up picking up two, along with Coco's upgrade outfit set.)

All of Imperial officers are amazing. Tarkin, Krennic and Giden. Now the wait for inevitable Thrawn.

If the Ahsoka series comes out in mid to late 2023 and Thrawn is in it as expected, a Thrawn figure wouldn't be delivered probably till like 2025.

Gives me a weird feeling to think that far in advance for figures. It's definitely a waiting game but it'll hopefully be worth it.

Got him today. Excellent figure.

The red in the cape is not overtly red in hand -- more of a brick color -- which I think is better muted. The details are wonderful all across the costume. The magnets really help with the cape placement, and the wires are easier to pose on this one for a change. The cape also hangs really well. Joints are firm. It will take only minor futzing to get him perfect.

The dark saber is pretty neat in person.

Quick pic straight from box with white neck guard still in place and only hands swapped out.

Are you planning on adding ankle extenders? Based on the photos previously posted, I'm definitely considering it.

I was... but now seeing that Giancarlo is only 5' 8'' I might keep him short. He also makes the Dark Trooper loom larger the smaller he is.
I was a little confused why everyone wanted to add ankle extenders for this very reason. I actually looked his height up a while ago and remembered he was on the shorter side. I think anyone who knew him from Breaking Bad might have been a bit deceived about his height because all of the main actors on that and Better Call Saul are on the shorter side. I think Bryan Cranston was the tallest at 5'11" if I remember correctly.

In any case, Giancarlo is definitely a shorter guy so I had no problem with the figure being on the shorter side.

Actor height does not necessarily correlate to character height. There’s always angles, lifts, crates, etc. involved. Most famously RDJ is also 5’8” but MCU Tony Stark certainly is not.

Similarly while Esposito is 5’8”, I personally feel Moff Gideon is intended to be taller. Just my opinion though; we don’t have an official character height so we can’t say for sure.

Not saying it’s wrong to have the figure at the stock height. But I think for those that have changed up the height, it matches the character better for them.

This is one of the few times I plan on modding a figure myself and the pegs just came in from OSK.

These are good points.

Yeah, the character Moff Gideon is listed as 6 ft tall. The actor is 5'8''. I imagine they tried best they could to get him to be about Mando height within the context of the show.

That said, I still feel like Gideon looks smaller -- they can use as many apple boxes as they like but you just don't get the girth that would also go along with the height.

There's nothing wrong with a short villain. Look at Toht.

Finally scored a Darksaber from this parted out. Crazy how pricey it’s going for. Was almost tempted to buy the whole figure and part him out lol.

Opened this guy today -- he really is quite nice! The attachment peg for the slashing Darksaber attachment seemed to have had a chunk cut out of it. I'm not sure if it was just a factory goof or an attempt to make the fit less overly tight, but it was still really snug compared to the other two emitter pieces, so I ended up shaving it down a little more myself. I figure it's better than it getting stuck and/or breaking later on.

Totally agree here. I'm more about the aesthetics in the display. No way I'm having a figure that looks undersize compared to all the rest, only because in "real life" he is a bit shorter.

Mine came yesterday finally, but need to find those ankle extenders in my work room now.
