Can't care less about that grandpa. I need background characters, aliens, robots. That is SW for me. Sideshow could do them once, but that time is long gone.
You wouldn't get that with InArt, they've only expressed interest in making the most popular characters from each line.

I'm all for it but I don't think Queen would branch out beyond the tier one characters. I would be happy to be proven wrong. I wish the knockoff companies would give aliens, imperials, and rebel troopers a shot.

I get it. However, it can sway HT to try harder or maybe try something different than just 10x Vader and Luke.

I think the situation is the 3rd party companies aren't even bothering with aliens like Greedo because they don't think they will make enough $ for it. Competition won't solve it. There will just be more versions of Lukes and Vaders. The only way HT will make more background SW characters is to have the Marvel shows flop or disappear. It happened at the start of the pandemic and we got a lot of Mando figures from that.

I don't know the reason why the knockoff companies don't pursue Star Wars. I always assumed that it was either because Star Wars aggressively goes after copyright stuff or because the knockoff players are based in regions that aren't very interested in Star Wars.

They already make some pretty obscure figures, I just can't believe some of the characters like Greedo or a trooper that folks would army build wouldn't sell better than a lot of the stuff I see on the market.

Yeah if Padme and Mace don't happen now I don't know if we'll ever see them. Sure there's the Revenge of the Sith anniversary, but I'd argue that their most impactful 'action figure' moments as characters come in AOTC. Of course I'd love to see them go deep with Padme similar to Leia (I would LOVE a Queen Amidala on Throne), but at this point I think the best and only chance we have is the white outfit from the end of AOTC. For Mace, Jango is just such an easy proximity piece it just has to be done, right? Sure, he has that fight with Palpatine in ROTS, but he gets mutilated at the end, I don't think that's anywhere as 'awesome' an action figure to own as his AOTC appearance. If they aren't shown here...I fear a Bespin Han fate awaits them.

At the same time, Hot Toys don't make a lot of sense, especially with something like Cad coming out of nowhere after not being shown at Celebration. You can't predict them. I just feel in terms of probability, these next 6 months are our best shot at getting these two characters- and therefore this is the last real opportunity in a convention/showcase setting.

Mace - Hot Toys teased him in the background in a few of their official promo shots for another prequel figure preorder so I believe there's a better chance we'll get Mace compared to Padme... admittedly, Bespin Han was seen in the background before and still nothing. :lol

Padme - other than some Con photos, she's never been featured in any of their preorder photos. Also, I wonder if the delay has something to do with likeness rights or clearance with Natalie Portman. For Love & Thunder, Thor is up for preorder but still nothing for Lady Thor aka Jane Foster.

Young Leia - LO-LA59 was included as an accessory with Obi-Wan so I doubt we'll be getting her in 1/6 form. There does not seem to be much (if any) merch for Young Leia, even in smaller scales.

Probably the latter. Marvel and Star Wars are both under Disney and 3rd parties make plenty of Marvel stuff.

Mighty Thor is up today. The face is blurred. When they solve whatever issue they have, I hope they can announce Padme with it.

More clone and battle droid variants?

You got it!

Step in the right direction. Gives me hope for Padme.

I will preorder Mighty Thor in the hopes that Hot Toys does not butcher Natalie Portman like that hideous grinning Paul Rudd (Ant Man 2) sculpt. :lol

I actually picked up some loose parts and bashed an Antman in Team Suit figure and I think it looks good! :lol

By the way, I can see InArt releasing just a few of the major characters for the different licenses but I don't see them redoing entire lines.

For Star Wars, I would really just want a few such as ANH Tatooine Luke, Bespin Han and perhaps old Ben Kenobi. Curious to see what they could do with a Chewie, too. It would really be about the human head sculpts for me.

$300 for a barebones Tobey Spidey figure. Definitely time to make a list of what last characters I don’t have but want and get out of Hot Toys collecting. These prices and wait times are just ridiculous. I don’t know if I care to wait until summer 2024 for a Tobey figure.

Cassian from season 2 Andor with Rogue One outfit. And if they visit a snow planet, double fiesta with Snowtrooper reissue.

If they reissued Snowies I would absolutely grab them. Probably my biggest regret was selling that 2 pack with the E-Web. Maybe one day I can get it back.
