Saw this today, looks like the best scale to date, I just pre-ordered direct, $290 plus $22 shipping (for me to central US), limited edition 3,000

It a great 'seat' for Cersei -- assuming that 3Z figure can be seated with that dress.

I think though, I'd prefer to have that space for another figure or two. Especially at the price. Maybe I'd bite at $159... but $290???

I only have a small collection of 3 figures and was thinking if I should move on from them, this is a nice release to finally have, but I still think I'm on the way out.

Who was actually on the throne longest in the series? Joffrey? I guess by season, not real time in the show since I have no idea how long the show was supposed to take.

Price seems in-line with statues of similar scale. 1/6 scale statues seem to be around the $200-$300 mark, the Throne is slightly taller than that, so the price is reasonable.

I see some Diamond Select Star Wars stuff for $240, some Tweeterhead DC stuff for $400, Kotobukiya Marvel stuff for $340.

It's just a friggin' chair. No actual character sculpt or human likeness. Literally paying full statue price for a base.

It's not even particularly complicated. Just a hunk of polystone with melted swords all over.

Yeah, it's just about double the price it should be for what it is.

How much was the other licensed throne?

I thought Dark Horse released a similar scaled one a few years ago that was super heavy and a larger base area.

That's irrelevant, a 16" tall statue is going to cost more to produce than a 12" tall statue. It will require more silicon to make a larger mold, and more resin to create the actual statue.

Even if you were to argue the sculpt for a statue with a human likeness would cost more than a sculpt for a chair, that's still a one-time fee that would be offset by the higher variable production cost of the larger item. Hence why I said the cost for the 16" chair was in line with comparable 12" statues.

I was looking forward to this. Deeply regretted not getting that $500 1/6 size one from a few years back. It sold out so fast for such an expensive item :( This one seems to be made specifically for those disappointed about that other release. A little less detailed/pretty, but a somewhat better size, and not nearly as pricey.

Arrived today.

The box was ridiculously huge. Inside was the interior box- fully printed, also ridiculously huge. Inside of that, a styrofoam cushion box- and then the figure itself- a much more reasonable size, but quite heavy.

I didn't have any suitable figures in the office to demonstrate the size, but Janeway stepped up.

Iron throne

Definitely a credible 1/6 size.
More so than that earlier super limited one, I think (although maybe also less detailed?)

Anyway it works for me!

Iron throne

One of the little pieces broke off the back of the statute- and that is a bit annoying, but easily glued and not easily noticed.

thanks for the unboxing.

I received the shipment from UPS a couple weeks ago but still have not had a chance to unbox it yet.

My previous 1/6 throne was an unlicensed (knockoff?) version from Ebay.

Been some time that someone has posted... I personally think the heroclub version is the best! The swords at the top here are just not done correctly and they are too short.
