Whoa! Considering shipping is already baked in, I can see Sideshow charging around that much. I’ll most likely pick it up shortly after it’s release but damn, I recall I paid $500 shipped for the 1:4 Scale Mark III last year. Is diecast metal really that expensive?
No, but Hot Toys has done a good job of convincing people it is. A lot of people equate heavier to higher quality and are willing to pay a premium for it.

I want to hear your thoughts.
With respect to the Mk 85 or this release? There was something bugging me about this one and I finally figured out what it is - the proportions, especially with the Tony Stark head on the thing. With that sloping shoulder armor, he'd need a neck like a stork to actually wear this thing, and he'd have to dislocate both shoulders in order to have even the slightest chance of his arms reaching those positions. I know almost all IM figures are a bit off when it comes to "man in the suit" believability, but this takes it to another level. If I bought this the head sculpt would never leave the box. :slap

I was looking at this image and laughing for the same reasons; if that’s the size and location of Tony’s head, his feet would stop probably just below the knees of the armor 🤣

There is no way HT will sell out of a general release IM..As much as hate it..I will probably wait on this

Yeah the 1/4 proportions are still much better.

And why do you guys like oversized Iron Mans? Everyone seems to be praising that obscene almost 13 inch height. These HT RDJ Iron Mans are taller than Thor and Cap.
The main thing at this point is they should scale with each other, they made the diecast updates taller but inexplicably made the original Mk 3 DC the same height as the plastic suits. So everyone with the original 7 lineup had a stumpy odd one out.

They should have all been shorter in the first place, but since this was the only one that was left behind then at least its faint praise that it matches the rest of them now

I have my undersized diecast Mark III posed with my Iron Monger across the room from my other IMs, so its size is not an issue for me. If I were to replace it with this guy my Iron Monger would probably end up looking too small, so I'm passing on this one.* I see no reason to spend upwards of $500 to correct a mistake made by HT 8 years ago.

I’m amused they put emphasis on the height in the description since the first Diecast felt really short.

This is 32.5 cm (12.8 inches) versus the 30 cm (11.8 inches) of the last one.

“The diecast Iron Man Mark III figure measures 32.5cm tall is meticulously crafted based on the image of Robert Downey Jr. as Mark III in the movie […]”
Yep it was already known Hot Toys read and listen to customer feedback (complaints?) but more proof of that. I think thats great.

Oh boy! Going to order. This will pair well with my Iron monger.
It's like you did this on purpose. :lol

I wish the battle damaged faceplate looked more like it did during the Gulmira fight, after he got blasted by the tank.
Only other thing I don’t like about this version is they still haven’t gotten the shoulder missiles right. In the movie, the top of the chest piece pops up allowing the traps to open to let the missile pods come out. But then again, that’s a lot of engineering for a figure this size.
