1/6 Hot Toys - Robocop 3 - Robocop Collectible Figure.

First RoboCop figure for me so I'm stoked.

Is anyone else not a fan of the fact that it’s diecast?

Did not see this one coming, but glad for it. Happy to see the more blue Robo2 tone. Will get for sure.

As an owner of both the original diecast release and the all-plastic battle-damaged release, I can tell you that for what they're going to charge you - you'll want the extra heft and cold metal feel that the diecast offers.

Definitely getting this! Don't really care it's from the third movie.

Really hope they revisit Terminator 1 and 2 again soon. A clean T800 from T2 and a much improved Arnold sculpt in 1/4 scale would be a grail for me.

What sucks is the likelihood of this being released a year and a half from now. Oh well, part of the hobby I guess.

Now if they were to reissue ED with a dome that is all plastic. It truly can not be that hard to do.

Just this week I was saying to myself that I wish I had a Robocop with more durable joints and an Iron Man suit from the first movie, I guess I wasn't the only one lol. Now I have to buy this and hope they fixed the clear plastic joints.

I'm a huge fan of Robocop, have both the normal, BD, and Alex Murphy figures. I don't know if I could bring myself to also buy this. I feel like I'd have to display him with his jetpack to differentiate him from the other figures and I really hate Robocop 3.

Funny enough I was just reading through the thread for the battle damaged figure and kicking myself for not getting any of the Robocop figures. Then this pops up out of nowhere.

Don't know why I'm excited for this reissue. Like a few fellow collectors, I already have the original RC along with the BD version and ED209, so I don't need this one but I'll still get it. There's no such thing as having too many Robocops. Now... I just need cain. I missed out on the Chronicle collectibles Cain so it would be a dream come true if HT can give us a their 1/6 version.

I had all the HT Robo releases at one point but sold them because I was drowning in debt. Horrible, horrible memories. Sold everything at a loss, FFS.

Really? But can’t they get more details in a plastic mold as opposed to a diecast mold?

Great news! I had PO’d the robocop with the mechanical chair but had to back out due to financial reasons. so this is a defo PO for me (the jet pack will probably never leave the box) ..but still upset that I didn’t get the mechanical chair that thing looked awesome!

It's a mental thing IMO. Yes, the heft and cold feel are great and it fits the character, just like it does IM.

But in reality, they are all going to be placed on a shelf and the material doesn't really matter. Yes, more detail is easier on plastic, that's the reason the BD version was not diecast.

That BD version (the set itself) is, IMO, HT's best work ever. Diecast be dammend.

Yeah I wish they would re-issue that BD version. Always bummed that I missed that one since I thought I didn't need it at the time. They did a great job on that sculpt + the matte/bd paint job.

In all honestly, I wouldn't expect anything more from HT on Robocop. This is probably just them pumping something out so that they keep the license.

Yes but the places where they use diecast, it's more than sufficient for capturing the details necessary. With a clean Robocop like this, you wouldn't be gaining any details by switching to plastic.

The battle-damaged version is excellent, but it feels hollow and light by comparison despite costing the same amount as the clean diecast figure in their day.

Now if we were living in a world where plastic meant it'd cost $100 less, then sure. But if they're gonna charge us $300 either way, I'd rather it have the heft and metal feel of diecast.

If you told me last night Hot Toys were reissuing RoboCop, I would have told you to go to hell.

This kind of release gives me a glimmer that we'll see some Terminator reissues down the line.
