Picked this up today but haven't had the chance to open it yet. The box is much bigger than your average 1/4 and heavier than most too. I can't imagine the space all the boxes will take up if you were to complete the entire diorama.

Just saw flankster's review on youtube.
Now I'm questioning if I picked the right one and should have got the Sideshow version.
It looks way underscaled when he put it next to the other 1/4 statues specially next to the Iron Studios.
I currently have the Iron Studios Endgame Cap, which I feel is slightly oversized in the first place, so this Ironman is definitely gonna look even smaller in comparison.

I picked this because I like the pose, the base, the detail better than Sideshow's.
Sideshow I think though might have a better paintjob, and will scale better next to other 1/4 statues.

This better blow me away when I have it in hand.
But right now, I'm questioning whether I bought the right Ironman statue.
I'm also even questioning now preordering the Queen Wintersoldier costume Cap. He's probably also gonna be underscaled.

Sideshow's is an amazing piece, no doubt. Their light up (and not having to mess about with batteries and flaps etc) wins for me. The red also looks better on sideshow - not as matte as queen.

It comes down to the pose and the detail as well, though - if you prefer these on Queen and aren't bothered about the light up then you might have to put him near other Queen pieces, as they will look smaller than other companies

For whatever reason, I always felt that glossy paint made both Sideshow and Iron Studios' Mark 7 pieces look like they were made out of plastic. I much prefer the paint job on Queen's. It doesn't seem like most people agree, so I'm curious if my opinion will change when it arrives today.

I don't think this would scale well with Iron Studios pieces, but I think as far as looks go this one is the best Mark 7 statue on the market.

Another odd thing I noticed: it's weird that they kept the holes in the base if they're removing the ability to connect all the statues together.

Unboxed mine today and I do love the paint. I think it fits the armor well and I'm not sure where the idea that it isn't metallic is coming from.

I'm a little perplexed by the battery for his head. It's different from the compartments for his palms, but the instructions make it seem like all should be the same style of compartments. The CR927 batteries I have don't fit the head compartment light up. The batteries have absolutely made this a pain in the butt to unbox. I'll have to spend more time messing with it later.

Do you have other 1/4 statues? How does Queen Ironman scale with other statues? Does he look ok, or does he look smaller even with other 1/4 statues?

I may be ok with this being underscaled, if he scales ok with other 1/4 statues, just not with Iron studios statues that are known to be overscaled.
I have Queen's Wintersoldier Cap on PO, and if also scales ok with other statues, then I may just sell my Iron studios endgame Cap.

My concern is Queen WS Cap and Ironman being underscaled next to other 1/4 statues.
Specifically, like my XM Gambit. Cap shouldnt be smaller than Gambit.

I do have other 1/4 statues but I have never put my Queen statues next to other non-Queen statues because they are slightly under scaled. For comparison, I have a Hot Toys 1/4 Mark 43 and even that is slightly (at least in terms of the head sculpt) bigger than Queen. I try to keep movie statues and comic statues separate.

If you're worried Gambit will look bigger than Cap I'm guessing Gambit will be bigger and it might bug you. I think XM is true to scale as far as I know. I guess scaling issues depend on the individual. I have the Prime 1 Venom next to Sideshow's Symbiote Spider-Man PF and he's a bit small but I don't hate them next to each other because it looks cool.

Thank you. I just dont have a lot of space, but I'm just gonna have to keep them on separate shelves.
Thanks and grats on getting yours.
Mine should be here Saturday.

Those 1/4 scales from queen will look in scale with each other

I too have their cap on order, will be funny putting him next to iron studios just to see the difference

Yep, same here, that LED piece for the head isn't shown on the instruction sheet. I've got an assortment of button batteries coming, if I find out what works I'll let you know. As for the statue itself, I'm very impressed...the paint app is outstanding, and I love the sculpt and pose. Queen put out a winner.

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

It is a gorgeous piece. It makes me very excited for the others in the line (excluding the battery element).

Are you getting them all? I'm only getting this and the life size Mark 7 bust.

So here are the battery types for each LED:

Arc Reactor - three LR44
Hand Repulsors - two CR927
Head - two LR754

My Iron Man preorders are:
  • Mark 1 (1/4 & 1/2)
  • Mark 7 Bust
  • Mark L (1/2)
I wanted to go all in on the line but the Hulkbuster is too big for me. I don't think I'll get the 43 because I have the Imaginarium Arts Mark 43 and they have the same pose. I want Mark 3 and 42 the most. If I don't PO any other expensive pieces I might get Rescue and 85. I like Rescue more than 85 (not a fan of the pose) but I want to buy them together. I like Mark L's pose but I have the bust and the 1/2 on order so it feels like overkill to have so much of one armor.

So here are the battery types for each LED:

Arc Reactor - three LR44
Hand Repulsors - two CR927
Head - two LR754

Thanks for the detective work, wish that was in the instructions.

paint and finished turned out really well on this guy. Congrats to all you who are getting one :rock Think I might try to put my HT figure in this post

Ok, got mine. I feel silly now panicking before getting the statue.
This thing is beautiful.
Two of my big concerns are non existent in hand.

First, he does scale well with my Iron Studios Endgame Cap. I was worried it was gonna be a smaller 1/4 that it wont look right next to Cap, but he looks good next to him.
The 2nd is the paintjob. I thought maybe the glossy finish I'm accustomed to would make me not like the matte finish, but its quite the opposite in hand.
I think it actually looks more like an expensive paintjob. Reminds me of when you see those High End cars with what looks like vinyl wrap paintjob that stands out when you see it on the road.
So I think that may be what Queens was going for, instead of a usual glossy finish that can look like a bigger Hot Toys.

This thing looks massive in hand since he's perched up high on top of the base.
Dont have time to post pics at the moment as I'm working on finishing painting my new man cave.
But I'm very happy with this statue. Definitely wont be my last Queens studio Statue.

This is the proper finish for the suit. Sideshow is glossy and also looks bulky. Not accurate.

These photos are tempting. But im already all in on QS iron man Busts. And will consider life size Mark 3 if it looks good. I really don't wanna go down this diorama rabbit hole.
