I hope we get some good handouts next week.... I need to build my RP's back up.. :lol

I used all my RP's to order Jango & Mando Boba since they are now in stock and SS gave that extra 10% off sale for a few days.

What schedule is that? The Con? Ad for Video Game Day is throwing me off. Because that's not til September.

Yeah I could use those rewards but what's the point except to pay basically regular price even after rewards are applied you know? Anyone else finding rewards not all that rewarding these days?
Yeah these days on a $300 figure you need about $40 in rewards just to get it back to MSRP. And then you have instances where you use your rewards to do just that, and then that figure has 10% off and $5 shipping a few months later thus wasting your rewards.:gah:

The thing that really nails it home is almost never seems to work on preorders. This last weekend 10% off was in stock only. We're actually lucky if it's not also targeted to only certain items. Because I'm almost never wanting those items. 😆

I used to use FedEx as I had an account with them, which meant they didn't charge fees. Now the only option I see on my orders is DHL, who don't give you any opportunity of creating an account to avoid fees. It was DHL who charged tax on the full value for an item paid for completely with rewards. They refused to do anything about it, even when presented with the law and the evidence.

FedEx used to do that too, but in all but one occasions refunded the overcharge.

I hate using Sideshow, and would rather buy from Hong Kong, but there are savings if you can use enough rewards. The savings are less than they ought to be though.
I'm in Canada and my options are DHL or FEDEX, I always went with DHL because it's about $20 cheaper than FedEX, comes in 2 business days and the duties seem to be lower than fedex from my experience. I'm pretty sure Sideshow will put the value of the item as how much you spent, not the MSRP. This has been the case for all my orders, as when I spend reward points I get charged taxes based on the amount I paid and not the full MSRP. But recently my friend used all his reward points on the hot toys mark 85 battle damage and was charged the full figure MSRP in taxes instead, not sure if this is new

When I complained to Sideshow they said they have to put down both the retail value and the actual amount paid in cash, and it's up to the courier which one they choose to use. :slap

They sent me copies of the documents, which I forwarded to DHL, who in turned claimed they'd charged correctly and wouldn't do anything about it.

Sadly seems they just don't know what they're doing then. The way it's supposed to work is there's a place for the insurance value and a place for the actual price paid. You can add shipping to the insurance but not supposed to for the "customs" value. Not unless you just want them paying extra in duty. Probably just a mistake but I'd let them know!
