It's insane these BTTF NECA figures are so good EXCEPT FOR THE MAIN CHARACTER whose figures are appalling.

You wouldn’t expect Neca to actually move without breaking would you? Poor naive soul. ;):ROFLMAO:

I wonder can we expect anything new at SDCC. Back to the Future and The Thing are about the only lines of particular interest to me that I can see having some representation there. Aliens and Predator are just going to be stuff we've already seen and videogame stuff most likely. Terminator is dead, there's still things I would want but I know they aren't interested anymore. Robocop, sure, but probably just the stuff they've already put up for preorder.

A 1:10 Delorean tops my list of wants since I think I've ditched the idea of getting a Hot Toys one. Is there any hope at all.....

Is there any update on when Hazmat Doc Brown might be available?

I really hope we see some figures for Part III too *whispers - it's my favourite out of the three*

From a Slashfilm interview at SDCC with Stefan Folkins (NECA's Production Supervisor of Product Development)

"First up, NECA's "Back to the Future" line is one of their newer efforts, having begun with the film's 35th anniversary back in 2020. However, Stefan Folkins said interest in the line has declined since the anniversary, which is why they don't currently have any plans to release a DeLorean time machine scaled to the action figure line. Furthermore, it sounds like there won't be any figures released for "Back to the Future Part III." However, Folkins did mention something about an accessory set, which isn't something that's been announced, so we're waiting to hear more on what that might entail."

Disappointing news.

Not making the DeLorean is a mistake, it would help sell the figures.

I get they have limited licenses to make figures of, but Ultimate Audition Marty McFly's sitting around is only their fault for thinking something like that would sell. They made so many to fill up Targets, I mean they should be happy with how many Target had to buy across the country. If they're not doing any more actor licenses, then they should easily be able to knock out 2 more Marty and Doc figures for the people who have bought everything. I'd 100% buy an alternate 1985 Biff too.

Ultimately, I think what it comes down to is Randy not wanting to do it anymore. Because that's the only explanation for thinking that there is a big market for an obscure 90s sitcom with no pop culture relevance in the year 2022.

Sucks.

If indeed they don't touch III at all I may go ahead and get the Hot Toys BTTFIII Marty to represent the film, I like the look of that prototype. Less sure about Doc.

But there it is. And if memory serves The Green Goblin above warned against NECA making (or being requested to make) lesser variants and secondary characters before at least the main poster looks of Marty and Doc from each film had been done. This will prove him right.
