The helmet as it was originally:

I can see now just how wide the helmet was at the jaw. The decorative seams were almost completely at the outer edge of the jacket collar, giving the whole thing a boxy impression.

Ideally the crown needs to be squeezed in as well, because I think Black Box made it flare out a bit to accommodate the wide hairstyle.

Have not been collecting or customizing in a long time but I just ordered-186$ free shipping. Will be mixing Hendi Cheung jacket, Medicom helmet and jet pack. The rest will be BB. Might cast the Medicom helmet and use with the head sculpt. I think with weathering the BB pack will look great.

Did anyone get one of the shapeways helmets and try it on the figure? The stock helmet is a bit big for sure. Some angles are ok, but you can definitely tell they took some liberties in size to accommodate the hair sculpt.

Well I picked up a new/sealed Medicom 2.5 off eBay, so now I can decide what to do with the BB…honestly, I think I may just use his un-helmeted sculpt on the BB and have them both on display.

Those that have both, is there a serious height difference between this BB and the Medicom? I also will admit, seeing the Medicom head on the BB body is tempting haha

I switched my Medicom over to a taller 1/6 body a while ago, and I think the proportions still work fairly well. The helmet might be a bit small, but that's definitely better than being massively oversized. So I'm hoping the helmet will work just as well on the new Blackbox figure.

I’m gonna wait to see how the 2.5 looks in hand since this will be my first go-round, but I am curious - Davejames, what body did you use for the swap? In case I decide to attempt that endeavor myself lol

It was one of these, although I think any generic body would work just as well. Of course if do switch you'll probably need some new boots as well, and I could send you mine since I have no need for them anymore. I think there were some boots off of the HT T1000, but can't remember exactly.

Although honestly with how old those Medicom figure are now, I'm not sure I would want to risk that kind of mod today. The jacket doesn't unzip all the way so you have to pull it off over the head and shoulders, and that's a lot of stress to be putting that pleather under. And I'm not so sure it would survive.

Looks nice tapered, but never finished paying the rest of mine after seeing how big the helmet was.

Sacrificed my 20 dollar deposite to GiantToys..but that was unacceptable to me.

I dont mind fudging things, but slight regret now seeing how the pinching in the helmet looks way better.

The “helmet pinch” completely changes the aesthetic of the figure. Definitely will be doing it to mine. Was almost wondering if losing the white shirt underneath would ease some the the tension on the torso as well. Can’t wait until mine gets here. Mine has been waiting to ship from Asia for a week now.

I actually did buy it....sort of. Waiting for my bank to approve something...long complex story..but broke down and did it. Rather buy now, than regret later.

I will not pretend money is no object, but If I need money, I can resell it later if need be.

Good choice, I know that I will customise mine when it eventually arrives (waiting on the punchline from Soosoo). The stock body is a bit rubbish and some painting is required but generally I’ve been pretty optimistic with what I’ve seen thus far.

Almost every time I go into the collection room I find that the Mauser has fallen out his hand.

Just now I checked and it was on the verge of falling out again.

I think it's because his hands are so rubbery, his finger's too fat for the trigger guard and the control button in the palm prevents a proper grip.

Yeah I tried both the Medicom and Blackbox Mausers and didn't have any luck getting them to work with that trigger hand. Unless you're willing to just break off the trigger which I wasn't.

Fortunately I really like the button pushing hand so am fine sticking with that one.
