I pray we get an Advent Children Sephiroth! I love the GT Sephiroth we have now, but I really need my legendary AC and Crisis Core cutscene Sephiroth with the pointy nosešŸ˜‚

Side Note: Backseat watchers, please don't post the pics Walter is sharing all over FB and Twitter all the time.. Let's keep this legendary company striving and on the lowšŸ‘ŒšŸ¾

Finally, after months of waiting due to an apparent glass shortage, the display shelf I've been wanting from Ikea went back in stock & I got it ordered for delivery. :D I've had plans to dedicate the entire shelf to FFVII GT with related backdrops. I can't wait to share pics when it's all put together!! I'm thinking of making a 3D floorboard of Aerith's church with broken floorboards/flowers growing from them...

Yeah I don't need reissues with minor improvements or changes. Rather have new characters that haven't been done yet instead of the same characters over and over again filling their backlog.

Barret is still a big wish for me. Would really complete the core team after they do Tifa and Aerith.

Same!! I'd probably settle for any company making a 1/6 Barret, but if GT did it, that would just be perfect. Hope they consider it down the line.

yeah, literal couple, both with bikes, thanks to a kind couple of members of the forums who helped when I asked here, I managed to get on Cloud reasonably because he was busted......I managed to fix him so he proudly stands on my shelf awaiting Zack, who i paid in full as soon as I had cash because I wasn't playing russian oulette again. Other Cloud I paid way more for, but it's sitting in a box at the moment.
I'd never ordered from aliexpress before and bought the other as a backup since I got screwed over for pre orders before on Genos and on Hunk.

There's certainly room for improvement, a metallic buster sword, bluer shoulder pad, and more correct hair and boots would go a long way, but I probably wouldn't get it outside of the sword because I prefer their hybrid look/earlier promo Clour look better than in game. They'd probably also go for a silicon body.

I'd love a Barret, and Dyne eventually, but I doubt either will make it because of the uniqueness.
I've only ever ordered from aliexpress once. 2 orders at the same time. One came through but took forever to ship and get to me, the other fell off due to them after so much time they automatically canceled the order. Luckily, it was only for a couple S.H.Figuarts DBSuper Broly Vegeta figures when I was collecting figuarts. Not doing that anymore, but I still find it rough to truly trust aliexpress or even ebay these days. Like most collectors, I tend to stick with the ones that I've had great experiences with. Namely KGHobby, Giantoy, Sideshow, etc.

Same here. If I hadnā€™t been able to scoop up an aftermarket priced remake Cloud, at least I could pick up an AC Cloud and if I REALLY needed the RE:OG outfit, could have had it made, as opposed to GT doing reissue after reissue, getting taken out, and then not being able to get any more figs from them at all.

new figures like, you know, Barret. Hint hint. Who absolutely will be on the horizon, because I will wish on as many shooting stars as it takes. Hint hint.

Congrats @Kha0s can't wait to see your display. Just some tips from a previous owner of that cabinet, make sure the ground is level where you put it, try to place your heavy figures on the bottom shelf. The cabinet unit is sturdy and the frame is heavy and all, but can topple over if you're not careful .

Thank you very much! Does it not come with L shaped support beams that attach to the top of the cabinet and then to the wall? Even Ikea's $120 shelf has those... hmm, well noted!!

It does come with the L shaped bracket, if you can get that installed then you are safe.
In my case my house's floor skirting is bit too thick and the gap to the wall created by the cabinet's legs and my floor skirting made me unable to install the bracket provided.

I could go down the path and find a longer bracket... but my wife didn't like the way it looked together with the other house furniture theme, so I didn't pursue that option (don't want to damage the wall for nothing :D ).

If it's free standing for whatever reason just be careful, but if you installed the bracket you'll be safe.

Saying those who got it are lucky is ignoring the fact that this thread was running for a long while and many others have and attest that GT are legit in terms of quality since they have already previously release 2 figures which some collectors (including me) have.

Believed I have covered exactly that issue because this thread has run so long and many people have forgotten what it was like then and there are many newer collectors who are not privy to what happened then. And no, placing deposit for giggles is for brats, I accepted how it looks like at pre-order photos because at that point it's the closest to 1/6 scale Cloud figure we will probably get for a long while. Having it being improved before release is a pleasant, welcome surprise but not something I'm expecting. If anything, we wouldn't even be having this conversation if the figure turns out for the worse but because it didn't people who didn't placed a pre-order or managed to get it before it went completely out of stock are now complaining about it.

If you don't think it can be improved after the photos or not satisfied with how it looks then you shouldn't place any orders which it's completely fine but to cry foul that you 'missed' out (when you have ample opportunities before) and say it shouldn't be this way feels entitled imo. You even have the choice of buying it after it was released (albeit at a shorter time period and limited stocks) so it is what it is if you really missed out. I have figures that some people criticized the hell out of but I'm completely fine with it. It is why I said early in my post that how each collector define their 'ideal' figure is different from one another.

Do you want this figure badly from this series/story you enjoy? Is this the only current company doing it at the moment? Are you ok with the pre-order pictures? Are you fine with the deposit amount? If you answer yes to all then you accept it at the images it was released then, everything else is a bonus.

But GT wasn't the only company making a Cloud. That's the point. Things just as easily could've wound up the other way, with the VTS figure looking way better than its prototype and the GameToys one getting the downgrade. That's why I said the people who ordered the GT one were lucky. It would be a different story if the GT Cloud was the only Cloud in production at the time, I would've ordered it, then, too, because there was no competing option, and just hoped for the best. VTS has done fantastic work in the past, I've got their Bloodborne figure, so I thought they were a pretty safe bet just based on reputation.

How many people here have pre-ordered the VTS Zack? Most people have ordered the GT one, based on the established reputation. But it's still entirely possible for the VTS one to wind up being the better one, because the promotional photos are completely meaningless and the whole thing is just a gamble.

To expand on this, there have been a few 12 inch clouds in the past, almost all of them were trash, and only VTS and GT were acceptable until the GT had the update.

GT has proven themselves and will probably be the better version, even if it looked worse than the adverts, it's still got a closer likeness and is made of better materials/construction. I'd say NOW we know what to expect of GT and VTS. It also won't be 15 inches tall for no reason.

You made a good point on VTS which I have forgotten to mention, VTS reputation in China forums aren't as good as its over here because many of the collectors have bad experience with the company. Most of the pre order photos shown are likely what you get, and probably worse at times. They do not listen to feedbacks mostly and release it as it is. They are the example of settling for the pre order pictures and anything else is a surprise. This is not too surprising because they are going for volume than quality and also to avoid confrontations from license holders since 'its not too similar yes?' logic.

Given both Cloud figures were announced relatively close to each other then, the collectors lean more towards GT whom have shown to taken feedbacks in improving such as their Ichigo from Bleach.

The thing is VTS are one of the few companies that do characters in high demand with reasonable likeness. Super Duck and some other hit and run companies also had a few FF sets which were subpar to say the least. I have wanted to get some of the other earlier series VTS had announced but something always feels off and the final product also has a noticeable lapse in quality. To me, they are not a safe bet because of those reasons above.

Perhaps the lack of information directly from China forums/social media contributed to these misunderstandings. It is not the first time I have seen collectors singing high praises for certain companies here while it's completely different in China forums.
