I wish both OWK and BOBF had been Young Indy-style flashback series - chronicling adventures in their prime rather than messing with the main saga.

The title "Book" of Boba Fett would even have suited that format.

The circle is now complete! :rock

When you said the circle... I thought of this:

How does that character make Disney any money? :lol
They get to defend her on Twitter (has been been happening since before show started airing) - which generates massive company goodwil via shrill-shill media coverage, which is $$$$ for Disney.

If a few million action figures have to go on clearance, who cares?

Disney has done incredibly well with Reva, just not with her as a good character or actress in the role. Those are side issues in this case. From the very start it was all about the company "welcoming" Reva to the "Star Wars family" and defending her from "hate" very conspicuously.

It's cynical, but it works powerfully for corporate branding in today's social media infested landscape.

Disney are still a business - how many of the social media woke brigade are actually paying customers?

I’d like to see a season 2, but keep it on Tattooine this time (which I’m admittedly sick of). Do the live action Maul stuff, or maybe a story with Jaba and Cad Bane as the antagonists.

My entire family and I loved it. Better than Mando to them, although I am not so sure of that yet….
But that final episode was incredible sendup of the Anakin V Obi relationship.

Already rewatched it once. Its even better the second time.

What bothers me more than anything else about new Star Wars content is their undying need to add new Troopers, new droids, and new tech.

Like, if Vader had this personal execution squad of Inquisitors that hunted down Obi-Wan Kenobi, where were these Inquisitors during the entire OT? Where were the Death Troopers, Purge Troopers, Shore Troopers, and Mud Troopers?? Why didn't Leia have her L0-LA droid during ANH? Those loader droids sure would have been handy to have in the Yavin and Hoth Rebel bases ...

The great problem with prequels. Star Trek has this issue aswell ever since they decided to go back in time rather than continuing forward post-DS9/Voyager/the movie Nemesis. Of course they finally did with Star Trek Picard and it's been awful....so there's that :lol

This is something I’m less bothered by.

I think most of the Inquisitors are dead or gone by ANH. Specialized troopers in the OT were introduced as very region and mission-specific (we never see Sandtroopers off of Tattooine, or Scout Troopers off of Endor in the OT, the Imperial Guard aren’t common, etc), and the Clone Wars showed a vast range of soldier types. LO-LA not being in ANH has many possibilities - it was destroyed, it was left behind, it was give away, etc. And we’ve seen specific droids for various regions of Star Wars plenty of times, with perhaps some droids being less-common and harder to acquire than others, with some likely “modified” outside of their intended purposes. None of that bothers me.

… Still baffled by the Vespa gang in BoBF though.

I could always headcanon the PT as "this is the height of society, before the Empire destroyed everything". It didn't help the fact that the film visually looked too clean, like digital camera instead of film camera, but I digress ...

Specifically my gripe with the Purge Troopers, and all the other variants is that Storm/Sand/Snow/Scout were always primarily white. Even the Clones were primarily white (don't talk to me about those Commanders that were never on screen). Then, that friggin Shadow Trooper showed up as a lame-ass repaint action figure, then we were off to the races with all color variants.

Like if Shore Troopers were tan to blend in with the beach on region-specific missions, why weren't Sandtroopers tan-colored ... why weren't Scout Troopers camo-colored? There's no attempt by the new content to blend in with the OT.

I'd probably have been fine with Shore Troopers if their armor was white like all the OT troopers.

I mean, again, maybe they’re run by their own division, like the Navy, Airforce, Marines, etc.

We had all-black TIE fighter pilots, but AT-AT pilots were white. We had all-black Death Star Gunners. The Imperial Guard are red. We still get a ton of all-white ones.

Infinite variety in the name of $.

Lucas learned from virtually giving away the toy rights for Star Wars '77 that there was a fortune to be made from merchandising. So from TESB we start to see a growth in variety of troopers for different environments.

Disney took it to a new extreme with the 'Shore Trooper' who shows up if there's a palm tree in sight.

And so it goes on, filling in 'gaps' where there shouldn't be gaps, because the money's in the toys. The movies are glorified adverts if you look at them in the cold light of day.

Going back to the first film, Stormtrooper armour was designed for space (i.e., the Spacetrooper), the harshest of all environments. So, theoretically, it should've been good enough for Hoth.

Yeah, my only concern is why there weren't K-2SO-style droids wandering the halls of the Death Star.
