It's totally sketchy and a bs response just to get him and others off of their backs for the time being. Eventually those complaints and emails will just fade away by ignoring them for another two years.

As for limited, no it's not limited. If 5,000 people decide to press BUY NOW then 5,000 of these will be made. It's only limited via how much pre-order demand there was for it. There was not a lot of pre-order demand for the original one, which is why the ES was set so low. I would actually be shocked if this ended up much different.

I tell you though, I now feel like a sucker and stupid for POing the Alien Warrior just days ago...I will look forward to it because I like the piece, but there really is no point anymore to PO anything.

The Alien Warrior will probably have a super low ES. Seems to be the least popular design from the first three films, plus it's got that huge diorama base. Some people disliked the wall on the Chap, yes, but most everyone was put off by the Warrior diorama.

They could reissue the Warrior, but I don't see it creating as much FOMO as the iconic Big Chap even if production goes well. That and they'd have to vastly change the statue to tempt folks who passed on the original due to its obnoxious footprint.

oh wow this is shady!
they removed wall as it was not a good design anyway and maybe it would make it easier to ship without the wall.
plus not giving spares to people and then releasing new version is bad

I really like the wall. Anyway I understand everybody…that’s the problem when you don’t fix an ES from the begining…there was not a lot of people buying the chap I think because of covid and the situation we were living… but that makes no sense 2500 dog alien and less than 1000 for the big chap?
Happy for the new owners but I can understand also the ones who complain about the re-release. Also I think that Prime1 could made things different with the ones who received broken ones…
About the design of the new one, for me that I have to diplay it against a black wall, I really like the original wall that came with the figure. Also the floor…That gives a cinematic air to the whole piece… glad to have it. I will PO it again and again… haha. Best alien for me!
Wish I have the aliens warrior bust from sideshow but I’m waiting ripley to stop with this expensive hobby.
(Why 2 years of waiting with this??)

I don’t agree with this move by P1

Not so much because of the edition size but because so many got ripped off due to there being no extra parts

And then for P1 to tell customers who are asking for replacements that their case was closed because the accepted credit… you gave the buyers no choice but to accept credit.

It’s messed up for sure. Even worse for those that want lower ES

I agree that it's not a nice move from prime 1 to say that there are no replacement parts and coming with that. It's just totally disrespectful.

BUT for people like me who were told it arrived broken at the store, no replacement > so no piece for you after 2 years of wait...I must say i'm more than happy to see this. It will be my definite Alien Big Chap as it was supposed to become already 3 years ago. It's not a simple re-issue... It's a re-issue of an issue ...If people aren't happy I can understand but think to those who haven't even received the piece.

Glad you're getting one! I'd probably do the same.

It's not even limited, the ES on this is TBA as it is with most of their statues. I'm curious what the final number will be as it'll give insight into how many people missed the boat on the first, but we can now add "limited" to the list of words Prime 1 has robbed of meaning. There's a nice little spot right next to "premium."
LOL the TBA trick eh. So this thing could run to 1k+ and they would still honour it to squeeze out every last drop of $ left.

Honestly I hope every other big company is taking note i.e Predator, aliens and terminator statues are still very much in high demand, make em good, price them appropriately and they will sell very, very well. Don't let Prime 1 hog this space, these creature designs are too good to be monopolized.

If people aren't happy I can understand but i can also be selfish like some of you are and think about me and some others who haven't even received the piece.

Those of you that are so stoked about this are making huge assumptions that this round won't be vastly broken too. And what's to stop P1 from announcing a new re-re-release of this mear months after you guys get boned on yours, with a slightly different base and $200 cheaper than YOU paid? And what's to stop them from re-re-re-releasing that after those people and they are cheaper still with higher edition sizes? At what point would you stop supporting a company constantly recasting a previous release and say 'Okay, this is getting ridiculous'? At what point for you would a piece start being no more of a collectable than a tv?

Also, I think we need to take the time to reflect on how diabolical this move was by P1. Think about it. They knowingly screw us over, then wait moments after all of those statues are in the hands of people to the point where there is nothing those people can do (past the 30 days), THEN announce a recasting of the statue so we can't return it and just order this one, or get parts replacements from this run. It's insane.

They can't go much lower than this on a hypothetical re-reissue. Whatever the ES, this stuff isn't cheap to make and costs even more to ship.

The replacement fiasco is screwed, no doubt. It's shameful and puts Prime 1 in a class of their own when it comes to scumminess. But the existence of the reissue itself, frustrating as it may be for some, is something I can't be surprised about. We were clearly headed in this direction. Anyone who's placed (or decided to keep) an order with these guys in the last year should know they're not paragons of morality.

That 1/3 Jungle Hunter so many of us jumped on -- collectors new and old, hopeful and cynical alike? The standard and DX edition sizes are TBA. The DXS is at 999. Add the busts to that and we're looking at potentially thousands of them floating around. A lot of people ordered that thing knowing full well how many might be pumped out.

But you know what? A nice TV is a nice TV. People want nice things. And those things turning out as nice as advertised might be all they need for it to be worth it. Knowing I'm one of the only 10 people on the planet with a turd won't make me any happier about owning a turd. I'm not criticizing anyone who still subscribes to the notion of collectibility, but in this economy, it's becoming a harder ideal for companies to uphold.

You've got to know what you're getting into as a buyer. Don't give your money to brands that do this kind of thing if you don't agree with it. And Prime 1 has been one of those brands for a while now. You buy from them when your end goal is to own big, pretty sculptures from expensive licenses. Be great if more companies were able to play in that arena, but it sounds like Disney will only deal with those who wield a big stick. Sadly, that requires "selling out" to a degree.

I agree. And that's why in my video rant today I bring up supporting independent artists who actually care about the work they put out, the personal connection they make between them and a buyer, and their reputation.
To be fair, the artist they hired to sculpt the Big Chap has done beautiful Alien work for years. I imagine an independent artist can sculpt and print small sculptures of licensed characters to sell on Etsy or, perhaps more easily, at a convention. But producing something in this scale, at a selling price high enough to cover independent production costs, and at large enough quantities to make the endeavor worthwhile -- all without getting on the Mouse's radar -- must be a challenge. I think it's possible to hit one of those bullet points, maybe two. Definitely can't market it too openly, though.

Unless you live in a country without strict copyright laws.

I think this whole thing has really blown up in p1s face. People are actually standing up on fb. I'm so glad that they aren't shrugging it off.
We'll see if Prime 1 cares. I don't think they'll acknowledge it unless they can spin their response to make it sound like they're doing us a favor.

Classiness all around.

Well the thing is, if yall remember the es numbers were around 800 for the dx and after 2 years of production they dropped to 250. No one wanted this piece before. People were complaining about the pose and the cost and the wall and everything. I never questioned it because of the quality of the dog that I got. The only reason prime1 is doing this recast is because of people talking about how good this piece is. These new people ordering it only want it because of collectors talking about how good it is. They didn't like it before. So basically what p1 is doing is using real collectors in the hobby to capitalize on casual collectors. I'm glad the backlash is this intense. I'm sure every other respected company is laughing at this blunder. I'm excited to see what queen studios does with their Alien license.

They won't acknowledge anything at all, unless this somehow turns into a dumpster fire release again and they only sell a few dozen total pre-orders.

Again, I anticipate a very small edition size on this as I think Prime 1 has overplayed their hands here thinking there was more demand than there was. They likely listened to the vocal minority over good judgment. Either that or they lost money on the original venture and are simply trying to get out of the red on this one.

This possibility makes me achingly curious as to how the Warrior will play out. Although they're probably doing well enough on other statues (DC) to make up for losses on these.
