So between Rescue,Thanos,Starlord and Endgame Thor at the least, they won't budge on selling to locals.
Moving forward, orders for figures that contain cell buttons for Aussie collectors, will be canned.
SSC isn't an option for me due to AUD vs USD plus exorbitant shipping.
Asia seems to be the only avenue over all for me now.

It kind of pisses me off that an Australian store is offering such steep discounts, but specifically excluding said Australians.

I’m currently going through my Popcultcha preorders and of them, 20 or so are of Hot Toys and about 5 of them have light up functions. Plus one that isn’t Hot Toys.

HT Mark 85 Battle Damage
Threezero Optimus Premium
HT Mark 1
HT Tumbler Batmobile (I’m hoping this doesn’t use button cells, can someone confirm)
HT Green Goblin Deluxe (I’m guessing this is button cell operated)
HT Moon Night

There are a few others, but I think their light up functions are powered by either usb cable or by probably AA or AAA batteries, such as The Batman sets from HT and Prime 1.

I also have HT Cable coming via Sideshow, as I purchased that using rewards.

Well thems the new laws Down Under in the land of we don’t trust parents to be able to do the right thing.

If it’s a figure like Iron Man then it will be a cell/button battery but if it’s a vehicle etc it will be aa/aaa and/or usb like the Delorean. The tumbler for example, would not be cell batteries.

kind of weird but Popcultcha seem to be the only Aussie store really following the new laws. Nobody else is, at least not on their website. Sugo, Scifi Toys, Davey and a bunch of others, zero information and still accepting orders for light up figures. Go figure.

Sugo are taking the batteries out of the boxes. They're mentioning it on the individual product pages. I know this doesn't specifically follow the laws, but they are doing something.

And unfortunately not all parents are created equal, and accidents do happen even to the most prepared.

I remember once popping the batteries out of an Iron Man figure and they went flying. I spent almost an hour looking for that very last one, as while I didn't have a child at the time, I was concerned that my four legged one would think it was a treat to eat.

Ok thanks hadn’t realised that

Yeah those suckers really do fly when they want to.

I was surprised that the Captain Marvel figures weren't excluded. I would have added one to my order if it were discounted like the others.

Also surprised you got an email reply from PC within hours. :lol But this does suck for Aussie collectors who now have to import figures with button cell batteries.

I couldn’t walk away at the $221.66 shipped price. Ordered this morning!
R.gif
alright, then

I wanted this when announced but couldn’t justify the price. Even now, I see some places with low prices but crazy shipping.

I really like this figure. The effect parts are a bit iffy, but overall a very good figure. I also like that it sorta reminds of the Knight Sabers in the 80’s anime Bubblegum Crisis. LOL
Yeah, I agree that the weakest aspect of this fig is the “effects” however the figure itself is a very solid release
