I'm curious as to the details on other rereleases. I doubt the first round of customers were plagued by breakages on the fault of P1, then boned hard on replacement parts. Also what was the timeline? Meer months after the 1st release?

The total whole edition size of the first release was 450. P1 will have calculated that even if all 450 buyers are angry they will be at least the same amount, probably more, who will purchase the re-issue.
Sadly over the past year anyone who visits these forums will have seen the contempt which P1 treats their paying customers. For example additional Predator busts, terminator leather jacket, no replacements etc.
We can complain as much as we like but until we walk away and stop purchasing their statues they will continue with their bad business practices.

If there truly is a large group of silent collectors that ordered all the JH busts and CH trophy skulls, I think we might be a drop in the bucket. It's weird to think that there may be fans more rabid than us who don't post anywhere, but it's possible.

Or they're anticipating that newcomers to these communities will be too happy to have a second chance at these grails to care about what happened to previous buyers... which is probably the case.

I just wanted to say mate, despite me being a bit saddened to have missed out on this originally, I whole heartedly agree with everything you've said in this thread. ES should be respected and a reason to hold a release to high regard.

I sold it not long ago due to space issues and wanting to focus my collection more, but PCS released a beautiful 1/3 statue of Goro from Mortal Kombat and it was limited to 300. The statue itself was incredible also. It seems that the days of such statues being made are gone for the most part and it's a shame.

Also, on another point, can someone explain to me what happened with the terminator jacket? I missed that.

I have the 1/3 Jungle Hunter on order and stuff like this concerns me. I can't see that release going smoothly for some reason. I hope I'm wrong.

This is really sad. This release has been a nightmare and just continues to be. As a business when you advertise a product as being limited edition that should be guaranteed. That’s part of what we paid for. Once it’s stamped as sold out that particular piece should never be produced again. All P1 had to do was change the Alien in a different pose and I think everyone wouldn’t have an issue. Oh well, I guess I should be satisfied that I have a low ES base because that’s what I spend all that money for. I am happy for the ones that get an opportunity to own this but going forward I can’t trust P1 anymore. It’s bad enough we as collectors struggle on prototypes and will they deliver but now it’s edition size as well.

The Terminator jacket for their 1/2 monstrosity is a crappy pleather jacket that will disintegrate in 5 years time in anything other than a perfectly climate controlled environment, which a lot of collectors don't necessarily have. Most collectors thought the jacket should have been made in leather all along instead of the cheap vinyl and Prime 1 listened....Listened so well that they decided to create a leather version and sell it for a mere $400 extra. I collect leather jackets as well and the best leather jackets money can buy (human size) can be had for $1200-$2000, tailored custom for you with your specs and your details, just so you know how much Prime 1 is trying to milk the customer base on this. Heck you you can ever buy the actual prop Terminator jacket model made by Bates for around $1200. Oh, and not to mention that tailoring on the Prime 1 jackets for this piece are pure crap.

As for the Jungle Hunter, the edition size is too large already with every darn accessory you can think of for them to do that, unless they make a camouflage version in clear resin lol.

It's going to be a Predator factory once the Jungle Hunter goes into production. So many collectors came out of the woodwork to order it, the total ES will be huge. No one should have illusions of it being a particularly limited piece -- but on that same token, Prime 1 better be stocked to the gills with replacement parts. There should be no need for a reissue, not for Prime 1 nor for us...

...unless they screw up the packaging to such a tremendous degree that thousands of pieces are damaged, making it the worst collectible shipping catastrophe in history. Then they reissue it one year later with the closed-mouth portrait included for a mere $400 more.

This is a truly scummy move by Prime1, not just to re release it, but to do it merely a couple of months after receiving the original. I only have 2 prime1 pieces and that's where the journey with them ends for me. The other piece is the dog alien which I bet they'll be slimy enough to pull the same crap with that piece too.

A member of the FB group posted an email they sent Prime 1, asking if they'd be able to get a replacement for the damaged parts since they were originally told they had no spares.

Prime 1's Director of Project Management himself, the man from the showcase videos who's personally overseeing the 1/3 Jungle Hunter project, responded directly to that member in the thread with the following:

"Isn't your case already closed by accepting credit?"

Prime1 doesn't even give af. Incredible.

That's just pitiful, wow...

On a happy side note, this whole reissue business got me looking more closely at my piece and I decided that there were some parts of the figure that were lacking a bit on the gloss coat, namely the ribs/torso, hips, and ultimately decided to do the mouth and face. They were clearcoated/sealed, but just not as glossy as I thought I could make them so I decided to break out the Mod Podge for a bit a fun and boy did it make a difference. Much, much more vibrant and alive feeling now in those areas. He looks like he just molted and out came a fresh, slippery killer. Not that it was bad at all to begin with, far from it, it's just much better now with the additional gloss.

I can't really capture it on my phone camera, but I'll try with my Fujifilm tomorrow. Highly recommend inspecting yours to see if you can do that same though.

I don't have enough space to squeeze this 1/3 in. If it were 1/4 I'd be game, but after seeing how these clowns treat their customers, as much as I adore this piece, I won't be buying it or anything from them (1/3 JH will be my last with Prime, and that's if it even reaches Australian shores given the new cell battery laws, could be cancelled outright 😑).

They clearly stated there are no replacement parts, none, zilch, zero as an option. Here's $50 and some super glue, thank you and come again!

And now an entire 'limited' edition run. This crosses the line of no going back for me. If they want to attempt to redeem themselves, replacing all broken big chaps (a minimum) would be a good start.

As much as I really want this I'm going to try to not buy from P1 again, I have 3 other pieces on order already and honestly scared how the 1/3 JH will end up like. After all the recent things they've done I want to avoid them from now on

I only have two pieces from Prime 1, this and the 1/4 Predator 2. I find them both to be exceptional and I've had good luck so far with my orders, but it's hard to argue with the reasoning of people not wanting to buy from Prime 1 ever again due to the mishaps and mainly the bad CS they seem to provide in certain cases.

Oh how the so called saviors of the hobby to finally dethrone everyone's bane, Sideshow, seem to be falling...

Price is $1700 for the deluxe and $1500 for the regular and museum...man, **** them.
Going cheaper is actually a worse move. I'm glad I canceled the Warrior. And honestly I was getting Paul Atreides and I'm really thinking about canceling that one. Also glad I didn't fall for their weird Ripley pandering. They gave her a new paint app when the paint was never the issue to begin with. It's the sculpt. And it wasn't even a real paint app, they just photoshopped some dirt on her face and collectors are falling for it. Prime1 really has turned out to be a next level disappointment.

Well, $200 less than the original due to lack of wall. After three years of inflation, that's not bad. I'd personally rather pay $200 for an extra head than a 25-lb slab of polystone.

But this whole release just feels dumb. While the overall statue is closer to what I would've wanted for the money, they could've done a lot more to make it worthwhile and to avoid pissing off their previous customers. A darker alternate paint app, a different pose, a redesign of the bust to at least make it more stable. I can't decide whether to be insulted or simply underwhelmed.

It's not even limited, the ES on this is TBA as it is with most of their statues. I'm curious what the final number will be as it'll give insight into how many people missed the boat on the first, but we can now add "limited" to the list of words Prime 1 has robbed of meaning. There's a nice little spot right next to "premium."

On the topic of replacement parts, Prime 1's CS responded to that customer who asked for a replacement via email and suggested they ask again once the new statue starts shipping next year. Sounds sketchy. Who's to say the deal will be honored and, even if it is, will the new parts be compatible across statues?
