I wonder if they didn’t de-age Anakin for the flashback on purpose and not just for being cheapskates I wonder if they were trying to age him to address the complaints that he was too boyish in AOTC.

I saw a fan theory on Tumblr that it was supposed to be an alternate future where he didn't turn evil (and maybe the Clone Wars didn't happen?) Might explain why Obi-Wan looked more AOTC-ish too?

You're professing your opinion as fact. While I don't disagree that super charging Vader presents some challenges with the OT, the PT did that as well with the much more dynamic lightsaber duels. Star Wars has never been Citizen Kane. Empire is nearly perfect in my eyes and I'm perfectly happy re-watching that without thinking BoBF ruined my favorite character or enjoying Kenobi for what it is...a fairly shallow but entertaining opportunity to see Ewan and Hayden reprise characters that I enjoyed 20 years later.
not really no. I pointed out that those complaining are largely complaining about demonstrable issues with the show such as bad writing that creates plot holes in the OT or editing etc. That shows a focus on logic, continuity, reverence of lore, film-making techniques etc etc etc.

Saying that those who enjoy the show are mainly focused on action nostalgia and spectacle is largely demonstrated by their praise which is almost always along the lines of "great to see Ewan and Hayden again!" "OMG Vader is so powerful!" "that fight scene was awesome" etc etc with little consideration of those things are problematic: sure Ewan and Hayden are back but their characters are being done a dis-service / Vader pulling down a ship and then effortlessly ripping it open creates plot holes for movies and shows set after it where he conveniently forgets to do so, heck, he forgets immediately with the second ship with no explanation such as fatigue etc shown / Vader using the force to stop saber blade repeatedly causes inconsistency since later in the saga he could have used the ability but failed to do so as if he just forgot which resulted in his hand being lopped off etc etc etc.
Sure you can say it is just, like, my opinion man... but it is demonstrably true.

This right here. Star Wars was never perfect. To ot fans yes but to people who didn’t grow up with those films they are just good movies. I love rots and it’s my favorite but I know it’s very cgi heavy with terrible dialogue.
it is a bit of a strawman, I am not claiming the OT is perfect (in fact, I don't think anyone does) however it is obviously superior to what we have gotten since, and we should in this day and age of prestige television expect better quality than we are getting. To say "the OT was not perfect, you should not expect more of current movie/show" is like saying "the first Ford car didn't have airbags or brake lights, you shouldn't complain that the 2022 model doesn't include them".

No, there is such a thing as a bar, a certain level of quality that generally the vast majority can agree on. the bar for good star wars isn't actually super high, it just requires competent writing with decent dialogue and logic, competent direction, consistency and adherence to the lore and "feel" of Star Wars and decent visuals. What Disney has given us since their acquisition has in almost every case not reached that bar, instead giving us character assassination, plot holes galore with added retroactive plot holes, retcons, very poor writing that gives Prometheus a run for its money etc etc etc.

Star Wars should improve with time, not degrade. We thought the prequels would be the low point but we were wrong.

I’m surprised to see all these comments cutting up the show. I was expecting praises for the show. I’m enjoying it. Especially the last one, which redeemed the show after a so so episode 4. I mean I was shocked at the power of Vader. Before this episode, the most powerful I saw Vader was in the Rogue One hallway scene. The scene when Vader and the Stormtroopers invaded the base reminded me of the Hoth Echo Base takeover. Vader eventually got to the Millennium Falcon, but he saw it get away from him. I thought that would happen here, but he stopped the ship in midair and brought it down easily. He did like Magneto and ripped the side out. Not to mention he didn’t even need his lightsaber to fight Reva.

I mean come on it’s like nobody is ever happy.
Apparently in the finale Vader uses the force to pull a moon crashing down into a planet. And he does it out of ANGER! Now that's gonna gonna be something for the Angry Vader fans to see.

And you must have missed The Last Jedi - this last ep was beat for beat the same as the TLJ climax. The shock reveal in the next ep will be that Ben never actually left Tatooine.

But yeah why Vader doesn't pull the Falcon down in the Hoth base and tear the door off will forever remain a mystery (along with why he didn't just force-pull the Tantive IV to the destroyer in ANH to start with).... along with why he let the second ship go in this ep - force-juice depleted maybe?

Would have loved to have seen the Obi Wan speech on his escape plan - "I expect Vader will pull down and destroy the first ship he sees, so we'll be in the SECOND one, hidden right behind, and I just KNOW he won't destroy the second one like he did the first. And I'm sure the Imperials didn't notice the ginormous circular roof door above, so won't be waiting just outside to shoot us down the moment it opens. And the Imperial ships in space just above us.... I'm sure we'll breeze right past them. Now... how is ten year old Leia coming working alone on those electric systems to open the ginormous locked door for us?" 😬

Yup. Nobody is ever happy.:dunno

Not so fast. It will make perfect sense when Disney releases their OT remakes and ties it all together:

Boba stealing Slave I and then immediately burying it in the Sarlacc = Anakin going room to room in the Jedi Temple killing even more kids. :duh

I never thought I'd say this but I think Buffoon Fett actually comes out the bigger badass because at least his stupidity was against a much more worthy opponent. :slap
Are you talking about the door though Khev. Fennic had to defeat that one for him as well Kennedy in the desert.

Order 66 with practical clones sounded like a dream come true and yet here we are with three entire flashbacks now starting with Grogu and all they've done is triple down on it being this big child massacre instead of showing us what we actually wanted to see.
I agree somewhat, but the thing that stuck with me the most with Order 66 was the killing of the younglings. The deaths of the adult Jedis never really stick with me on an emotional level so it isn't the first thing I remember when Order 66 is brought up.

My Star Wars head cannon hhhurts my brain box...

"Everybody knows you never go full Vader. Check it out - Dave Prowse, A New Hope - look Vader, act Vader. Not full Vader.

Then you got him in Empire Strikes Back. Bad yes, bad Vader maybe, choking peeps in his chamber. But he charmed the pants off Palps, and won a face-off with Fett. That ain't full Vader.

You went full Vader, Disney. Never go full Vader. You don't buy that? Ask Hayden Christensen, 2005, Revenge of the Sith ending. Remember - "Nooooo"? Went full Vader? Went home without a career."

In all seriousness though Yoda's teachings in that very same film suggested that Vader could indeed have grabbed the Falcon with the Force assuming he was strong enough and had the presence of mind to attempt it in the split second he had to act.

ESB Yoda (only about 20 years after PT zero-g/parkour Yoda, so he's 920 years old vs 900)) seemed to know what he was doing force-wise yet he expended a fair amount of focus/effort to very slowly raise a small fighter from a bog and move it maybe 50ft.

Vader in OWK pulls a massive freighter craft (seemingly almost the size of the Tantive IV) many hundreds of feet above backwards out of the sky, crashes it, then tears massive metal chunks (the size of a truck) from it in just seconds.

In the ESB duel Vader seems okay lifting some smaller pieces of equipment but you'd think if he could crumple up doors/hallways during his Luke duel he'd have done it.

It opens up all kinds of questions beyond the Hoth base - why didn't he just pull/hold the Falcon to the star destroyer before it jumps to hyperspace at the very end of ESB (or various close-quarters times in the Falcon pursuit)? Or cripple Luke's fighter in the ANH trench sequence, or crumple any rebel ship that came near him?

I dunno, maybe Vader is weaker by ANH or something, maybe he's SUPER-MEGA-ANGRY at Obi Wan in that Kenobi scene, but it just seems like a bit of a slippery slope for a morsel of fan service that started with the RO hallway and seems to be going ballistic.
