They will and it will tie in perfectly with the ST. Lol I wonder how the 3 st fans will feel after that 😂
It might... But remaking the OT would be the fault of both George Lucas and Disney. I have always been able to say that is all ended with ROTJ. The ST does nothing to really impact the OT. But if I want to enjoy any new SW content, I have to watch the Disney shows

This show / BOBF and the PT have retconned so much of the OT that there is no flow to the story anymore. :(

The ST does not change anything enough to make me think the OT might get a Remake. But the way these shows / movies play loose with the fact of the original story makes me think they almost want to do a remake so the stories will all flow together.

Having said all that. I separate it all. OT is the OT.

The PT and the Obi Wan / BOBF series are their own thing, and the ST is its own thing.

I can find things in all of it to enjoy, but for the OT to be pure, I have to separate it all.

My personal canon is mainly ROTS, Solo, Rogue One, ANH, TESB, ROTJ and maybe Mandalorian (with edits).

TPM and AOTC and 2003 Clone Wars can kinda sorta be added but heavily flawed.

The Clone Wars 2008, Rebels, Kenobi: Not canon to me but can at least be entertaining.

BOBF, Disney trilogy, Holiday Special, Ewoks cartoon, Droids, Ewok movies: Complete trash that we need to pretend do not exist.

I would not be against remaking the Star Wars saga (eps 1-6) to create a more unified coherent story, but I do not trust current Hollywood and in particular Disney to do it right. I would prefer they do not at all since they would only mess it up. I welcome remaking the sequel trilogy with a completely different story since it would be very hard to do worse than they already did. bring back the cast, re-use the trooper costumes etc but actually have a decent freaking script and overall story planned out and actually do Finn justice.

So did they literally just redo the ROTS scene as a sparring scene in Kenobi!?!?

FFS... :slap

I was hoping to have more interest in watching this when it was over rather than less and less after reading about each episode from week to week.

Was Solo actually good? I still haven't watched it. :lol I tried once, on an airplane, but I fell asleep.

Legit question - does the eggman have more information than the audience about Reba? He keeps saying they found her in the gutter but didn't they find her in the nicest building on Coruscant in the best school studying to be a wizard police officer with a license to kill?
Reva says she played dead beside her fellow padawans so I assume she escaped the temple, and lived off Coruscant's streets for a bit before they finally found her.

It's mostly forgettable... but has some good designs scattered about. It's far from the worst of Star Wars.
At the time it was showed, I felt like it was a wholly unnecessary thing to dive into, given that Han Solo had just died and it doesn't really push the narrative forward. I sort of feel the same way with Andor to be honest.

For Kenobi though, I felt there was a rich history between him and the Skywalkers between ROTS and ANH that could be explored (and I was hoping to be explored) so I felt differently coming into this series.

I agree, Solo was wholly unnecessary.

I hope Andor surprises us all. The fact that there are no expectations should help that series alot.

With Kenobi, personally I have no interest in the in-between years. Nothing that interesting can really happen between Ben and Vader, as we've witnessed. The "burning Kenobi" was cool, but if it means I have to keep Reva and all the other crap in-canon as well, then I'd gladly sacrifice it.

If they were going to spring for some decent writers & Mando level production values I'd love to see a show about Dooku & Qui Gonn. It would be interesting to see how Qui Gonn developed his independent thinking while Dooku becam disillusioned.

But they'd probably show Dooku doing sneaky Palpatine missions into Shmi's slave apartment with a turkey baster droid.

like the prequels, Solo is heavily flawed and didn't need to be made, but has a lot to like in it too. it just gets into my personal canon, just. pass grade.

It was far from anywhere near as bad as some tried to make it out to be, but being a movie that most felt didn't need to be made, about a character who just got killed on screen and following the most insulting Star Wars movie ever (TLJ) meant it was crapped all over and boycotted.

If you ever read the old Han Solo books from a few decades ago you might enjoy it more.

Okay I finally watched the new episode and without reading anyone's posts I'll post my thoughts and then go and see if anybody else actually liked it, lol.

First the bad:

1. Something about the production value of this series just seems to scream "TV show" more than Mando 1 and 2 and BOBF. It's hard to put my finger onto on specific thing because I think the TV vibe is so widespread. Even the way AOTC Obi-Wan and Anakin's lightsabers ignited at the beginning just seemed off and wonky.

2. The music during Tala's death felt way too sad and overly manipulative. It was a cool death, just let it play out without going so over the top, lol. I felt like the show so wanted me to cry that I couldn't help but want to roll my eyes instead.

3. A hundred Stormtroopers and they still can't hit any "fish in a barrel" Rebels until they get two feet away? Good grief, lol.

Other than those things I like pretty much everything else! Including Reva! :thud:

And I said after the first episode that pretty much the only explanation I'd accept for why she knew Vader's true identity was if she was a youngling who witnessed him killing other Jedi as Anakin and color me surprised but they did it. Holy crap did they double down on Vader's evilness! I loved it! And his competency. Of course I would have preferred that Reva die outright but honestly after this episode I can't say that I hate her character anymore so wow, what a feat the accomplished there, lol.

To save money they inserted a photo of a-dev’s stormtrooper shelf!

It was OK I guess.

I am assuming they way this has messed up the OT storyline that Disney is just getting ready to do a remake of the original 3

yup. I separate the st from the main canon and if this sucks this will be separate from that aswell. I’m perfectly fine with the pt, clone wars ,rogue one and ot being my canon.

Even the ass-backwards plot by Vader and The Grand Inquisitor to use Reva? I think that whole thing floats on the "he's alive" reaction that 8-year-olds experience without thinking the logic through about staging the GI's death (what if she decapitated him?) and everything else that had to work to get here.
