Cool figure but the QC on this thing is garbage, this is the second figure I got, I returned my first one because it had a mini circle that looked like a hole and was littered with scratches on the codpiece (I wish it had the shiny spot instead of that).

This new one has this mini shiny mark that almost looks like excess glue or something, I can get over that however, there is a pretty big mark on the left side of the cowl. I'm going to ask for a replacement of the cowl at the very least otherwise anyone know how I could minimize the shine below his armor?

EDIT So I put him on the top shelf and you can barely see the little shine so that's good however, I did notice the regular faceplate on this cowl doesn't hold in place at all like it has no friction with just that faceplate the rest all fit good. there is also a difference in the other faceplates they have a white backing while the normal expression that doesn't hold has just plain texture is it supposed to be like that or did something fall off?

The first DX19 I got from SS looked almost exactly like this. The second one had a scuffed up codpiece. Third time was a charm, it came back fine.

The difference in the "white backing" is that those mouth pieces are made in 2 pieces-one for the mouth and then a separate piece for the teeth. That's the only reason for the difference in the backing and unfortunately, doesn't have anything to do with the closed mouth piece (normal expression) not fitting in propery.

As for QC on this - it does seem to be all over the place. My sticky bomb gun had the pin missing from one of the grip handles and there are scratches on it that I need to smooth out to look normal. And while the figure itself overall is in good shape, I did notice a weird sort of scuff on one of the pecs. It's not noticeable at all really especially at normal viewing distances and I wouldn't of see it had I not been closely examining how cool the carbon fiber pieces looked. But it's there and irks my OCD a little bit.

I had a very similar spot on the Cowl of my figure, I gave it a few rubs using a magic sponge eraser and it cleared it.

The ab armor in my left side is bent and looks off. Beautiful looking figure, but ****, this was rushed out.

I didn’t have any QC issues with the two DX19 figures I bought.

You guys are a tough crowd. Gotta say, having owned the MMS 71, DX 02, DX 12 and Armory, the DX19 is the best straight out of the box. Even the cape is well done. I mean for the price and the 13 year advancement since the MMS71, it should be. Not sure what more you guys want.

Would the cape pack have been nice? Sure, but I have the one from DX02.

Would the Armory belt with the superior construction and pouch/capsule choices? Sure, but I have the ones from the Armory.

It’s all been done now, just short of removable gauntlet blades. There’s only so much more they can do with Bale in the Dark Knight suit. The only advancements I would have liked to have seen are minor.

- neck joint utilizing mixed medium materials like the body suit (the magnetic neck looks bad on all of them)

- alternate wire cape for Batpod/gliding poses

- new hands

The Begins suit is in much more need of a redo than the TDK version. It’s a a shame Hot Toys refuses to remake the Begins suit from the ground up with today’s standards. The original costume was fine for 2008, but it looks so dated now.

It is a beautiful figure and I'm still very happy with I'm just really annoyed with all these little QC problems for a figure I ended up paying $340 for.

I gotta say, I think I like the slimmer look of the dx02.
DX02 still looks great in the Hong Kong getup with the Bale head - it always has. Your real life friends will be very impressed - they don't know the rubber under suit should be cloth. Even with the cowl, if you position it right to hide the long skinny neck (looking down of coarse) and use the pack it looks good. It has a bit of a stylized look to it I have always found attractive. In figure form I have always preferred this tactical suit with the pack over the cape. If I'm not mistaken and I may be - I think Nolan thought about using the pack a lot more in the film from which his cape would deploy when needed? I may have dreamt that I dunno.

Absolutely love this fig. I doddled on the Armory set from Popcultcha way back in the day when it was on clearance for a dumb price. Always regretted not getting a Baleman.

I'm really impressed with the faceplate paint apps. The neighboring detolf cube has Batfleck and, as much as I reluctantly want to say it, the mouth plate looks borderline amateur in paint compared to the DX19.

You didn’t dream it.

Everytime he was on the Batpod he was going to have the cape pack. That’s a ton of scenes.

Yup, the assumption before actually being able to test the Batpod was that you couldn't ride it with a free flowing cape, but during the early tests they gave it a shot anyway and it worked and they liked the look better, so they scrapped using the pack form.

Yeah they was worried it would wrap around the huge tire lol

Yeah I remember from Nolan's commentary of the Batpod.

So , my figures ab section on the right side is bent and locked into a bent postiton, do you think taking a dryer to it and flattening it will work?

The more I look at this figure, the more off center and parts shift. Really starting to get frustrated with it.
