Some of the characters can get away with it, but I was looking at Nancy and in some scenes she was looking much older. Turns out she's actually 27!

I can't remember how much older than the others she was meant to be.

Going through IMDB looking at the actors' ages is like entering The Twilight Zone.

Steve is actually 30!


The cast, the dialogue and the delivery is so good though, that I can look beyond the inconsistencies. The stress of living in Hawkins surrounded by Hellmouths probably added years to them anyway.

Some of those age comparisons are crazy.

Actresses can often get away with playing much younger characters, and I think they're purposely selected for certain roles because they can bring the maturity of their actual age to the complexity of the acting required.

When the series began many of the main cast were both young and bringing a high quality of acting. It's taking so long to tell this story that real time has inevitably moved on much further than the in-universe chronology.

There's at least one more season, so I think there will have to be a time jump.

I was pondering on this subject and it unearthed a long forgotten memory.

There was a time when quality child actors were the rare exception (e.g., Hayley Mills), and most of them were merely precocious, uncoordinated or obnoxiously annoying brats. That is, they were just children, and not much was expected from them. Thinking back to myself and my peers at that age, it would be almost impossible to imagine how much more competent kids on TV and in films would become, and how much higher the bar would be set.

That was when I remembered the long forgotten memory. There was a boy in our school who got an acting job in the kids' TV show, Letty. It was rubbish, and so was the acting.

Unfortunately, we made fun of him for both. We were also envious of the amount of money we imagined he'd earned from it. He later spent some of it on a Sinclair C5, which only drew more ridicule!

Yeah I read something about that they used an effect because Millie is too mature now But I also heard Millie was willing to do it , but the producers thought it would be easier this way because she had upcoming movie projects

There is a tidbit in the article with an embedded TikTok video showing evidence of Vecna’s clock chiming before some of the killings in prior seasons. Pretty nuts.

Cool catch about the clock. It could be a reach, or maybe the Duffer Brothers had this planned out from the beginning (IIRC they had an entire story plotted out for the series).

Binged this last season over the weekend. It took me about till Ep 4/5 to get back into it. It's been such a long time between seasons, it was hard to empathize with the characters anymore. But by the time the finale came around, I was totally into it. I was really impressed by the production value.

I relished every second. I found season 4 to be absolutely incredible. I hope Threezero paid attention and don't take years to make Eddie, Vecna and Flamethrower Hopper.

Nevermind being just the best season of Stranger Things, this is one of the best seasons of any series. Story, production, acting, everything was on point.

I would put it up there with Lost season 1, TNG season 5, Mr Robot season 4, and X-Files season 3.

It really is amazing. Every episode was a joy to watch.
