TMP Kirk is going to onboard a lot of new buyers to the line as long as supplies hold out imo.

Not only is it the power of Kirk, but also the power of photos of EXO-6 production heads vs early preorder prototypes. FC Picard is my 2021 1/6 figure of the year from any company and I believe has the best sculpt of any EXO-6 delivered to date. But I think it had the worst photos of any EXO-6 product for presale and that seriously hurt the order numbers. Compared to the Kirk photos that pretty much capture the essence of Bill Shatner as Kirk, this thing is going to shoot to the moon.

This is my most wanted trek release even over the TMP Spock. Maybe the apparently bare bones accessories will discourage some from purchasing? I can’t think of what else could be included with admiral Kirk other than a few paIrs of hands. Did he use a communicator ?
They had wrist communicators in TMP, not sure if he wore one but it’s plausible he could have - I think Nanjin said in the past this one would be very basic in terms of accessories.

I wouldn’t mind the wrist comm and a Phaser even if he never used in in this uniform in part as the Playmates version of this Kirk was and still is one of my favourite action figures.

He’s stood on a shelf now waiting to be joined by his screen accurately tailored self!

Going to move fast on this one (we all will), ever since I saw that Kirk sculpt and the tailoring I knew I needed it as much as I need the WoK version.

Fingers crossed!

Admiral Kirk will be most likely immediate sale without pre-ordering process. (Will continue to discourage some from buying TMP).
I feel bad and selfish for saying it because I do want all your figures to be successful but I also really want to be able to get an order in for TMP Kirk & Spock so please keep working on discouraging people.

Need a sneak peek of Disco Bones
We already got a peak at the sculpt, and it looks like the best McCoy yet.

A travel pod could be an accessory, or maybe a Scotty 👍🏻

So where do you guys buy your figures? Direct from company? Sideshow? Your own dealer?
I guess what I'm trying to figure out- is if anyone has a dealer that doesn't charge tax and doesn't mind sharing that info with me...

BBTS for me.

They have the best customer service I have encountered in 18 years of collecting, and have a "pile-of-loot" option that allows you to collect multiple orders together to save on shipping costs. They are even better for customers in the States as they only charge $4 USD per item shipped (I really am thinking of moving to Florida! :) )

As a Canadian customer, BBTS do not charge taxes, but I usually get charged them by Canada customs agency as they cross the border.

Nothing. He only has 2 pairs of hands. So, this is just a figure for standing pose. Action figures fan can just skip this release if you are planning for TOS and the future Twok. This release does not have what regular 1/6 action figure collectors like to have.

These figures are geared for Star Trek TMP fans who see TMP as an important time for the story of the Original Crew and the Uniforms fans in oarticular. I did NOT look at 1/6 collectors with lukewarm attitude for Trek.

TMP figures tell a story not just merely Kirk, Spock, and McCoy.

Simple figures with simple pricing.

I didn't know about the 4k release. It has generated another group of new buyers that I didn't consider..

Judging from Burnham momentum, TMP will sell out in a few days or less.

Thanks, I do like BBTS and the "Pile of Loot" and the $4 shipping can't be beat. I use them for sure for smaller stuff. It's just that taxes for the bigger stuff, the tax charge can be a bit high. It's not their fault of course, but still would like to find a way around it, being the cheapskate that I am.

Collectorzown. They basically ship for free. The website is a bit confusing at first because it shows a higher price, but they regularly give out discount codes (basically weekly) and the price is always lower. You essentially get the figure at cost with no shipping charge.

The only hang up with the discount codes they offer is that to receive the maximum discount you have to pay in full up front. I’ve never had a problem with them though and have ordered quite a bit there.

Good to know, I’m in Canada too and placed my first exo-6 order with Sideshow, mostly because of the rewards program and payment plan should I want to use it. I also find Sideshow has longer pre-order windows. I’ll have to look at BBTS just for the shipping savings alone. You couldn’t call yourself Canadian without getting screwed on taxes.
TMP Kirk is honestly the figure I’ve been most excited for since it was first teased/announced. Really, really hope I can get one.

I was initially planning on just getting the TWOK trio until I saw Nanjin’s TMP Kirk post the other day, this Kirk is potentially the best release yet.

I’m not sure that had much of an impact really, he sold out everywhere. Same with Data.

LOL on the taxes comment - SO true! :lol

Sideshow rewards are a waste of time for us now (since they now expire a year after being issued).

Coincidentally, I (just this week) closed our Sideshow account and asked them to delete all records. We've spent over $13k USD (around $18k CAD) on about 40 items over a period of 17 years, but we've had enough. They no longer provide the product or quality we are interested in, and last week charged an extra $25 for shipping via FedEx instead of DHL, and then shipped via DHL. We (sort of) got a refund, but that was the final straw. SO glad to no longer be a customer.

I’m completely in favour of this. The simplicity is part of the charm with this release and narrows one’s focus to the figure and uniform itself as the conversation piece. (y)

Thanks so much! They didn't have any of the things that I want to order right now- but I made an account and will keep an eye on them for futre releases (and hopefully get some discount codes).

If you follow the Collectorzown Cantina on Facebook they share the codes on there too.

That wrist comm was a standard issue for uniformed officers. Kirk didn't have one until he's in duty uniform. We excluded this accessories.

Spock only held a phaser in STV. He wasn't a phaser dude. Kirk was, and he will have one in twok. Plus, the differences between TMP and twok phasers were so minimal that it isnt worthwhile to be in 1/6 scale and force the collector to have one and charge for it. Economy is no good. "Essexntial" items are good enough.

TMP has no accessories beside items that were attached to Kirk uniform or McCoy's necklace. Kirk has 2 pair of hands but actually can do with 1 pair. Spock has 1 pair of relax, a up-your-sxx hand (left and right as one piece), and force feed him with a LLAP hand. McCoy, one pair of hands.

"Practically" priced figures pair with practical diorama, an EXO-6 exclusive refit TMP/twok Command chair that won't break your bank like the "standard" Command Chair version. Maybe is called "Essential," the only differences between this practically priced chair and "standard" version is the base and the high resolution backdrop. Practically priced exclusive version will have an Perspective Adjusted optical illusion backdrop to compensate the missing authentication of the Standard version (most expensive). The print itself is 8k resolution image generated from a CGI environment that built from the ground up for this TMP release.

I think the presale will be brutal.

The quantity is less than Picard and Data significantly....

The 4k TMP release screwed up everything.

Those who said TMP wasn't their cup of tea please remember TMP isn't your true love. TOS and twok are what you really want for 1/6 Star Trek. Don't sway and make bad decision. We all know, first choice is always correct decision.
