Looks like they at least got rid of the exposed joint pin issue like their new Mirror Lion-o.

I’m tempted to at least get Lion-o but I have no desire to pick up the others. Too goofy looking.

Mirror Liono from wave 5 is also pinless. In an interview Brian said that they lost all the tooling for wave 1 when they dropped that factory. They had to completely retool Liono for wave 5 and are reusing it for wave 6. It boggles the mind that they had the perfect opportunity to ditch that mid section for Lion-O, with a decent excuse as to why he was updated, and they just transferred over a bunch of the bad decisions they inherited from Mattel.

Curious as to why they aren't including the Everliving Mumm-ra head in this LJN colour scheme as well as this throwback head. I'm sure a lot of people would love an articulated version of the Powercon Staction figure from years back.

It would have been nice if they completely retooled Lion-o with the same pinless joints as the mirror, and LJN versions with updated proportions so he is the tallest Thundercat. I’m sure they won’t let this cash cow go unfulfilled but they were ambiguous when I contacted them about an updated version. Probably still trying to get people to buy the stock that is still in online stores so it won’t be shipped back to the factory.

I am actually glad I canceled my pre-orders ad dropped this line. Just not as exciting as I hoped, especially with his latest wave.

Started on a ghost Jaga repaint since I had an extra body.

Not bad. I wonder if the will make a clear blue Jaga or just a repaint?

Finally getting done with my custom Lion-O. I might hit him with the dullcote to get rid of the residual shine. I also installed magnets in the shoulder straps so I can add a cape from "Lord of the Snows" later.

Resculpted the face, bigger jaw.
Removed some hair including the volume at the back.
Resculpted the torso, pecs, ribs, abs, made it longer. Arms placed higher.
Adjusted the belt.
Attached the legs lower so they are longer, less hidden in trunks.
Resculpted the tops of the boots.
Sculpted over pins for pinless look.
Full repaint to cel accuraye colours.
Claw attaches to thigh with magnets, no clip.

Holy crap! That looks amazing! Great job Booshman! Can you show the magnet areas? I was hoping to do the same for the claw shield. How did you hide them?

Thanks man. Lot of work but I got there. The magnets I don't have a picture of and I don't want to take him apart again. I drilled into the thigh, down and out a bit from the inside, being careful to not go too far and come out the skin. I did 2 and that was enough to take the weight of the claw. A little super glue was used to hold them in place. The ones in the claw I had to drill in direct to add them, then filled the top with putty and sanded to hide them. Since I repainted I could have done the same thing with the thigh really.

What kind of putty did you use to fill in the exposed joint pegs and the thigh after installing the magnets?

I started on molding and casting a sight beyond sight small sword of omens. First casting wasn’t great but it was just a test. I’ll make the next one better but at least I know it can be done.

I used the Bandai 8” small sword since it’s more size accurate to this line and cast the new SUPER7 full sword to get the upturned cross guards.

The pegs I covered in Aves Apoxie Sculpt, then sanded and painted. It looks better and the layers of paint seem to be holding but the flexibility of the base plastic means that over extending or bending in the wrong direction could crack or dislodge them.

The magnets on the claw I just skimmed over with Tamiya white putty.

They still haven’t shown wave 6 official pics on their website or any social media including their Facebook page or their instagram.
