Let me give you a humble advice friends; be very very careful with the belt and also with the false leather straps around the legs. They are extremely fragile and they are going to peel after touch it a bit, specially the belt. I tell you this by personal experience so please, don't repeat my mistakes :slap

Congrats FlyandFlight! Mine arrived yesterday as well. How strange no shipping email and just suddenly appeared along with my Elven Warrior.

Congrats, DakRen! A bit of advise to save you some frustration- simply cut off the plastic wrap that is around his neck, instead of popping off the head to remove it. I had a horrible time popping the head back on. It isn't fully in but at least won't fall off.

I also had to cut my Gimli hand to allow him to hold an axe. Did you use an X-acto knife or anything precise to cut it?

An X-acto will work fine. I just used a pocket knife that I always have on me. I then heated up a cup of water, dunked the hand in, to soften it, and was then able to fit the mace/club into his grip. I had to move his grip towards the middle of the club or else his hand would just pop right off, due to the weight of the club.

Thank you for warning. I don't plan to repose my figure too much but will definitely be careful.

How have people received theirs? I ordered this second batch the same day it was announced, and haven’t heard diddly squat. Very frustrating.

Yours is probably in transit. I didn’t get any shipping emails and seems no one did. Still arrived Friday for a couple of us.

Good to know. I have not received any notifications, but they did get the money. Just need to keep my eye out

Asmus missed my order. Said it was their mistake and are sorry. Will ship it right away. Might want to double check with them if you have not received your order yet

Thank you for your remind, we have gradually gotten back from the system glitch in the past weeks, but there is still few missing orders appeared for that. We will put all our efforts to pick them up and thank you for your kindly patience.

I want to give a shout out to Rovi for contacting me thru PM to help me, and I received notification that the computer issues had lost my order, but after sending my order number, etc., the problem has been resolved and Gothmog is on his way. So, thanks again Rovi for your help. It’s much appreciated.

No worries, thanks for your waiting and calling out. Next time you may pm me directly and send an inquiry to service mailbox for order issues.

I hope by this point they've upgraded the body underneath this figure. I got him when they first came out years and years (and years!) ago at the very start of the line and instead of a standard figure body, he had a strange doll-type body with limited articulation. The only Asmus figure I've ever done any heavy modding on. It was fun and he turned out nicely, but I hope these new ones are more up to current standards.

I have always had an affinity for secondary or tertiary characters in movies and Gothmog certainly fits the bill. Head sculpt is fantastic, but I may need to add a few washes of color to further accentuate the features. He needs some sort of neck collar to hide the bottom of the headscupt; the sleeve around the wrists need to be secured, and overall armor weathering. Yes, he still has limited articulation, but I am ok with that as his shelf presence is outstanding an you can't beat the price!

I and my fellow collector (from the same local collecting group) received our Gothmog figures yesterday. We are both very unhappy with the quality of the figure. I am very disappointed in Asmus right now, the quality is worse than I would expect the 50 USD figure to be. It has so many flaws I can not believe it. Armor pieces don't hold onto the body, I had to reglue them back but they barely hold. Arms and wrists pegs also barely hold, the one with the weapon fall down when the weapon is in it. Unless you make Gothmog look into the ground you can see a neck peg. The armor and outfit are positioned all wrong and the overall body quality is abysmal ...

Images are taken by the fellow collector. I personally was so sad/angry that I did not take a single image, I placed the figure on the stand (the only good thing about this figure) and put it on the display. This is a figure that I would rather throw into the trash or give to a dog if I ever wanted to sell my collection.

Oh yeah, there are production flaws aplenty with Gothmog, but keep in mind it is a 10 year old figure and the ones we just recieved were most likely cobbled together from spare parts. These are no longer production pieces, so inconsistencies are to be expected. Plus, he cost HALF what most Hot Toys cost now. I feel as if I got my money's worth, but that is also because I am going to enjoy spending hours modding this figure to be the way I want it.
