I think the fact that they’re rolling out the exact same Cobb Vanth with no headsculpt STILL tells me everything I need to know. Would love to be shocked, but at this point, I think it’s highly unlikely.

The more AOTC thing is cool but you don’t have ANY of them to show at THE star wars event of star wars events OR on may the 4th? Its all just clones and droids? That screams they thought it was going to be enough and then were rightly criticised, so they pulled out a damage control announcement that we won’t see the spoils of for a long time if ever. Again, hope I’m wrong but this company is just simply going down a path I won’t follow with the Star Wars IP.

It’s also in the exact same pose. They haven’t touched it since last summer lol

Every event I tell myself not to get excited...start to get excited...refresh the heck out of these boards...and disappointment sets in. I expect the same for this and probably SDCC as well. Between this, the two year wait for "release" and then the small batch trickle, my enthusiasm for Hot Toys is fading a bit :(

Not a fail, just par for the course for Hot Toys these days.

Even the headsculpt figures seem to be re-use of the same sculpt (Temuera) time and time again. We were blessed with Fennec and Koska. It’s annoying that they seem to be getting better and better with headsculpts and we’re getting less and less with Star Wars.
 
Absolutely correct. We have been getting the same Luke sculpt for a few years now. Jedi, endor, snowspeeder, mandalorian, bespin. With costs up, hot toys is going to reuse sculpts clone us to death. Easy reuse and print money. Even anakin is a reused sculpt for the clone wars. When was the last new Star Wars head sculpt that wasn’t previously released? Fennec?

I don’t only collect OT, I collect TCW/PT as well, but it’s still wildly annoying that HT will make troopers that are on screen for three minutes but then ignore key characters like Piett and Wedge.
 
Just a reminder Sideshow is doing a sneak peak of their booth in 15 minutes time (8am PT). It seems to be a Twitter only thing. The full booth tour is at 5pm PT.

Sorry I wasn't directing that post at you. I don't think we will get Piett and Wedge though. Tarkin was as close to that as we get. I'm still kicking myself for not buying him when it was available.
 
I feel like it's pretty bizarre there doesn't seem to be a new Obi-Wan of any kind either? Like whether it be the Clone Wars one(RIP) or one from the new show that literally premieres tomorrow... This celebration already feels super underwhelming.

I didn’t think you were haha just lamenting that Hot Toys is getting lazy with simple repainted more and more and ignoring characters that are actually important to the OT and greater story.

I totally agree. I think the news that they are bleeding sculptors are true. They are sending their A team to work on the Marvel sculpts. Mace and Padme can't be that hard, we can only hope lol.
