This would have been a completely different experience had they chosen a proper body but as is it’s quite nice.
I’m diggin the jacketless look. The shoulders are just too square and biceps just too big on this. I tried the jacket briefly but couldn’t quite get it to look right at the moment.

I didn’t feel like messing with getting those boots off to swap bodies so I just started chopping away at the shoulders and arms and some on the lats of the stock body. Got them a little less square with a bit more slant to them. Might cut some more away.

Jez I don’t know what’s worse, their desperate attempts to keep you as a customer or them wanting you to nominate them for their customer service!

I was saying to @FlyAndFight who’s in the same boat as me - I ordered the moment it went live on their site, so if it’s done on a first come first served basis, I’m led to assume they either didn’t receive any stock whatsoever or it’s all been parted out & sold off.

Either way, Kit, KG or Gian will have my business from now on.

Also, if anyone hears of one going, feel free to drop me a message, truly gutted it’s fallen through.

And that concludes my final ever purchase from Toys Wonderland…

TRANSLATION:

Hello stupid collector. You foolish and stupid to order from us. We either did receive your figure and sold it to another collector who choose to pay more than PO price or we didn't get it because we screw over so many suppliers. You so stupid so we give you 30% discount coupon to buy from us again and give us another opportunity to screw you over buy taking your money and not deliver. Thank you.

SO . . . the 30% discount coupon is not going to cut it huh?

I couldn't help myself with this one. Oh, well.

I believe TW and Nicky from Stallone's Shop are running neck to neck for 2022's 1:6 Vendor Ludicrous Desperation Award while TW already secured the 2022 1:6 Vendor Rip Off Award by a landslide.

Others chimed in about past and recent issues with KG.

It's up to you, but consider doing due diligence and then deciding.

I don't fault anyone for pre-ordering with them, because two years ago when this first went up, they hadn't pulled so much shadiness.

But it certainly confirms everything lately. I'm genuinely pissed that they have such a big market hold, and that Justin being so prominent on Youtube advertises for them but they are REGULARLY pulling this **** now.

I’ll certainly have a look before ordering & appreciate the heads-up.

I had no idea there was so much shadiness surrounding TW when pre-ordering, as I have used them several times over the past few years with no issues whatsoever, it’s only through searching this thread that I became aware, that coupled with what seemed like obvious stall tactics caused everything to fall into place.

I tend to mostly buy 1/4 scale & this was one of my first ventures into a figure made by a manufacturer that doesn’t have licensing rights which aren’t as readily available in the U.K. it seems.

I’ll grab one eventually from somewhere. Meanwhile, this was TW’s response when mentioning I won’t be checking out the other 5 items currently in my basket…

For what it's worth I've been a KG customer for a very long time. Issues I had with them:

Once they shipped me the wrong item, but promplty sent me the correct one.

They overpriced an invoice by mistake, but promply corrected it after I wrote them about it.

Once they sat on a shipment for a whole week, before actually posting it. And I dont think it was due to covid shutdowns.

They refused to take back a Threezro defective figure, this was during the first lockdown and the issue was probably caused by the shipment being held in a container or something under the August sun, and the paint partially melted. They offered a discount and cited the fact that Threezero would have not echanged the figure, as they are stingy. From what I read online, this might be true. In the end, all went fine, as the paint slowly settled again and the figure was ok after that.

In the end, I would still reccomend them. They might be a little messy, but in the end they've always delivered, and all in all, from me in Italy, they are the cheapest option.

Maybe try them out. Or go with Kit, which is the most reliable and among the fastest sellers. I also bought from him and he's first class.

Haven't bought from Giantoys, but I have bought from TW. Not a bad experience, but the shipping was supercostly and I ended up paying customs. That almost doubled the cost of the figure...

When an established, well-known, and prolific vendor is accused of sketchy business practices, there are usually two reactions.

1. Those who'll come to the vendor's defense.
2. Those who'll add to the accusations based on their experience.

Over time if the accusations/instances increase, it becomes heated and toxic based on the venue. We've seen it happen previously with vendors before the wave of instances regarding TW, TNS, and KGH. Remember Mother's Basement (just to name one).

There will always be "real" collectors/customers who'll swear such vendors never wronged them along with those who'll claim they were wronged. In addition, there will be fake/shill accounts/users defending the accused vendors for whatever reasons in following the established norms within social media.

In the end, it's ultimately about collectors/customers who lost REAL money for products paid and never received. Collectors/customers will experience and learn the hard way and avoid making poor choices going forward by hopefully exercising due diligence and making an informed decision without being influenced by questionable hype and testimonials.

Of course, some will continue to make poor decisions while experiencing and learning the hard way.

Can you recommend what Tamiya set to use for weathering the shirt and eventually the jacket?

Not giving them any slack as that does indeed suck, but at least they are issuing a refund nd not taking your money and running like they've done before (hopefully it's not empty words). I've also noticed that they've stopped with the big discounts and coupons lately. Before it was like everyday there some sort of new discount on a certain figures.

I am wondering what's going on with my NeoGeek order as well. They've pushed the ETA to June-July. Almost makes me wonder if there could be SOME merit to what TW is saying if NeoGeek also doesn't end up getting their orders either. Would be interesting if Present Toys themselves saw what these things were going for on the secondary market and cut some retailer orders to make extra money on the backend by selling it themselves to make some mad profit.

I am still waiting for them to credit my credit card for an order I canceled May 3rd looks like credit card dispute time.
Yea, you're almost at the 30 day mark they mention on their website so if you don't get a refund by first week of June, it's probably a good idea to open a dispute.
