Thanks for the update Asmus. Looking good, but yeah that gap definitely needs fixing...it is quite noticeable in the one eye.

I echo what has been previously posted. I hope the eyes are addressed so that they don't bring down this figure, which has been looking good prior to that last photo.

Definitely take another crack at those. Being so bright and pronounced, they look very cartoonish or like the Gollum’s pupils are going into hyperspace.

Yeah they look super flat. Too much of it just being a super flat painted down color with no depth to the eyes.

I imagine the eyes should be a big focus point for a character like Gollum since he has abnormally large eyes. It's like his most important feature.

That flat paint job on the face isn't helping the way those eyes look one bit...
I took the photo from above, simply removed the right eye, cut out the right eye from the test
photo and replaced it- no other shopping to it at all. I think the lack of colour in the face paint makes a big difference.
It needs the reds/pinks on the lids for the eyes to look less flat and cartoony.

Those eyes are just not fit for purpose but you’re damn right about the extreme lack of paint.
I was assuming it’s a completely unfinished piece as it only appears to have one paint app of skin blotches an underlaying of eyebrows and lashes. If that’s what we end up with then it’ll more disappointing than Ash.

The drop in the quality of the paint jobs on these figures is starting to become really noticeable. If you have it, compare Slim Aragorn next to the Crown GTG...the Aragorn figure has a full complexion, layers of colour and different hues of red and pink to give him a lifelike hue whereas Crown Gandalf the Grey Eyes looks like he just crawled out of the grave. I'm seeing the exact same thing here and I understand Gollum is pale but this just looks sad.

I was just showing what we are at the moment.
and it is about testing the pupil... not the skin painting...

I will try to update some painted heads, which we don't have it at the moment,
like I said, we are at the stage of testing eyeballs.

So, in testing the eyeballs, what does that encompass? Is it testing size for fitting? Paintwork? What is being tested? Can you give us some insight on the process? Can you tell us more about the internal feedback on the set of eyes you showed us?

The eyeballs need to sit way more flush with the socket, this is the problem with rolling eyes when you don't have black makeup around them like a Maul, Batman or Joker.

One of the reasons the Gandalf looked so off is due to how far back the eyeballs are set.

On our prototype, it was a file we draw and printed in a sticker. Not a hand painted in the first place,
so the difference is very slim between a prototype and a product. (they will be both made from the same file)

What I showed in the previous pictures, where the factory took liberty to draw their own pupil,
which is not what we drew for the prototype, so we demand them to remake.

so here are the new version which is appears to be the same to our file.

However, we now need to size and color of the them.

The worst part is to wait for the samples to travel back and forth from China.
