Thanks for that. I was starting to think surely HT doesn't do grey eyes. That could be a huge difference in look and those "sunken" eyes this figure tends to suffer from.
Very interested in what he looks like with some modified eyes. Either a HT transplant, or re-coloured Asmus eyes.
Also interested if HT eyes would fit easily or not.
As great and all that the InArt proto Gandalf looks, the jury is still out on weather the production piece will match up.

Yep and his cape is actually grey. Weathering is also nice on this one.
Unfortunately the HT eye-balls are smaller 
Was just about to post the same. Here in comparison with DX17 (Darth Maul) and DX11 (Joker).
It's a bit of shame. Painting the stock eyes would be difficult enough, and the paint would have to be sealed as it would rub off when adjusting and moving the eyes.
Get eye decals off eBay?
Is it difficult to get them out?
They would be a good option
No it was surprisingly easy to pop them out using a small pilers

I have my concerns and qualms with IA, as impressive as it is from a technical standpoint. But much to the chagrin of many believing it'll be the next best thing to sliced bread, I still see more McKellan in the Asmus sculpt. An imperfect figure, for sure, but with TLC it looks excellent.

Me too. Dunno when I look at the InArt proto I see a very handsome, sort of Sean Connery/Bernard Hill, Gandalf. Very close, but like a robust healthy Gandalf with lots of exercise and clean living.
I just don't feel a raging need to get the InArt version. It's all about getting a better sculpt for me, if I think I need to. So basically I'd be paying $500 for a sculpt and the moth, which IMO is a really cool addition.
Leaning toward just getting another Gandalf sculpt from ASMUS for my V1 and calling it a day.

Interesting. They are a lot more simplistic than I would have imagined. Have never really looked this close at eyes.
I have one of those magnifying glasses with light for modelling work. Maybe that'd be enough to repaint the Asmus considering they have the non standard "googly" eyes. Could leave the iris (arguably the most difficult to paint), just paint over the grey with off white and do some red veins with a thin bush.
In theory totally viable. Any pics of Gandalf with "white eyes" to know if it is in fact worth it and doesn't look weird ??

My money is ready ASMUS! It's nice of you to let us upgrade our V1
IA has no weathering which is bugging me. Also, for me, the likeliness is indeed off, compared to Asmus. The IA cape is of finer cloth, so drapes better. I am still having a hard time convincing myself I would spend ~EUR450 on another Gandalf. More like dumping those for their Aragorn/Legolas.

Wow that looks amazing. Need to do a side by side comparison. But certainly looks like an improvement.
