I use an old Hot Toys Trutype body on my Indy and you can get knock off bodies on ebay for around $30 . The body is much more slender and should fit the pants and shirt just fine , plus it will fit the HT boots and present toys Indy head.

Jacket wise I use the old KOTCS SS Indy jacket ,it's on the low end but gets the job done. You can go the custom route but they run $200or better. If you have the present toys jacket you can try leather conditioner and lightly sand it with 1000 grit sand paper to make it more supple.
Thanks, yeah I think I’ll give that a go with the jacket especially cause I know good 1/6 Indy jackets are hard to come by, I’m considering the jx-01 for him but I know that body is a little small and I’m worried about if that will make the clothes look huge,
Does anyone have any photos of the present toys clothes on the jx-01?

Well I’m finally finished futzing, and after a lot of weathering tons and tons of body modifications face repaints and kitbashing, I think I’ve finally reached a point where I’ve got an Indy that I’m proud to have on my shelf (at least for now), I tried to make it as “low budget” as possible as I’m currently between jobs atm and only used parts from the present toys, hot toys & a random KO body I had lying around.

What do you guys think?:whip

Nice work.

The PT sculpt just keeps looking better and better. I need to get my hands on one. Finally got started on my TOD build after collecting a few parts over the past few months. I'm really impressed with the ss pants and shirt, I have to say.

Yup, the SS TOD clothes are really solid. Pants are some of the best out there but the tear obviously restricts them.

On its way! Is the PT head the last piece you need?
I have a modified Mj that I had sent to ed.ma for painting. Going to see how that turns out and choose between that and my jnix. I'd love to get a PT head though.

Finally got around to replacing the RISE pants and HT web belt with Yunsils that I picked up. The HT web belt will transfer over to my TOD build. Also replaced the bag and strap with a DiD I picked from TonTon. Still working on that jacket collar but I'm getting there.

I just purchased the DX 5 shirt for mine . I have pretty much upgraded everything now from my original SS figure except for the SS jacket which gets the job for now but at some point I would like to replace the jacket with a decent custom that won't break the bank , does anyone have any recommendations ?

Depends on what you consider "breaking the bank" as you more than likely won't find one for less than $200. I think the first run of the Rise jacket was $150 or $180 but increased on run 2 and 3 b/c of how difficult it was to actually make than they originally believed. The Mike Yuan jacket was $300 plus another $150 for weathering if you wanted it plus about $60 to ship. Geewhiz Customs jacket is $250 last I checked with them plus another $50 for shipping. Then there was another jacket (not sure of the tailor) that I think most would consider to be the current most accurate jacket that was close to $700. Not sure how much the Kato jacket was/is. These are the only ones I know of that are real leather currently. I think maybe the old sovereign studios jacket was real leather and that was good enough for some for awhile, though that might be hard to find nor do I know how accurate it actually was. I think there's one on eBay but not sure of the price or if it is real leather.

As far as real leather Indy jackets go, the cheapest option would've been the Present Toys jacket and to just mod and weather it to your liking.

Katos was $800
The Jaggz run "Screen Accurate Raiders Jacket" was done by Hye Hwa and that one was $650.
A lot of research and info went into that jacket build as @Wor-Gar can attest.

Building an Indy from the ground up serves a completely different master than your basic collector itch. It's more akin to people that restore cars.

There's 'collectors' and there's 'builders'. Most start as collectors. But if you have a certain passion for a specific character or movie, you can quickly find yourself becoming a 'builder'... like Rzeznikk, Talibane, Raymond F, TonTon, davejames, matrix69, etc. Although everyone here is a collector, there's a lot more builders here than you'd think. And the more obsessive you are, the better a builder you will become.

I actually started in this hobby in 2000 as a builder, making movie figures that were not offered in 1/6th. Then Sideshow exploded with Star Wars and so many other movie lines that I started to take a backseat and became a collector, or bought customs from others. Over time, the need once again to build my own versions of things that never got made retook me... and truly the best and most rewarding part of this hobby is 'building' -- whether that's customizing, bashing or making something from the ground up.

Thanks for the info, I tried to present toys jacket already and I felt it was too long for my custom. I have the Mfisher set and it covered holster and was to long be able to adjust anything and made the jacket stick out. I would be willing too spend around $200 or so as long as do not have a bunch of other stuff coming in.

ahh yes the Jaggz run was the one I rounded up to $700. That jacket is fantastic. I'm definitely not at the stage where I'd want to spend that much on a single 1/6 item but it definitely is a site to behold just from pics, so I can only image how great it looks in hand. I'm currently pretty happy with my Mike Yuan jacket even if the inaccurate front pockets bother me a little.

Good luck on your search. The Geewhiz one might be the one you want to go with since you seem happy with your Sideshow jacket and that's what they used as a template for it (pics below). I've thought about it just to see what it's like in hand, but they have a 6 month minimum wait and want all the money upfront. While they did agree to do a 50% deposit when I asked, they didn't seem too happy about it by the tone of the email so I just passed and went with Mike Yuan's set.

Yeah the Jaggz jacket is all I'll ever need for a 1:6 Raiders Jacket. There's not much there that I would want to change. Aside from having to weather it myself 😆 otherwise near perfect.
