Good to know you are home.

I think with surgery the logic is you might as well be at home in pain instead of the hospital.

I also think they are always worried about drug seekers which is stupid if you just had surgery and had no history of that to begin with.

Try to focus on the good… no more cancer kidney
I agree 100%!

Speaking of which I just got back the pathology of the kidney and yes it was cancer and yes they got out the entire tumor and it didn’t spread out from its location! :yess:

That being said one of the previous MRIs did show a tiny mole on my liver and labeled it as a non entity and the doctors didn’t call it out BUT just for peace of mind I will be having that rescanned.

For now though I rest my body and mind.

Thanks JAWS and your mom was right about the gas pain.

The strangest part of this whole thing is that no matter how bad things got, you managed to keep posting on the boards with your usual jokes and humor. I think you may have even posted during surgery somehow. :lol

That's dedication!

Life is truly chaos.

When I was diagnosed with this tumor the only thing I ever thought about was the fear of leaving my 13-year-old son without a moral compass without his best buddy without his father, it consumed me and even while I was afraid, angry and sad all I kept thinking was that I needed to pull thru this for his sake, his well being.

He also has a great mother but if he also had lost his mother after losing me we would’ve essentially abandoned him into forever pain and grief because we know we take care of him the best, it would’ve been unfair to him just horrendously tragic.

So for now he still has his 2 parents and I hope it stays that way.

i’ll never forget the heartbreak my wife and I felt when he had surgery and now here was I scared of him losing me.

I'd love if we didn't have to poop. It's a nuisance in every way. Wish we could just beam it out of ourselves with Star Trek transporter technology.

So what's the cause of your problem currently? Are you not producing anything or are you terrified of opening up surgical wounds.....

If we didn’t have to poop or pee we would be living on Mars already lol

Well the narcotics cause constipation for starters but then the actual incision pain and pressure hinders any attempt by me to help it along.

The meds i’m taking to assist with the constipation isn’t as good as I was hoping so now I have resorted to prune juice and yuck!

Problem is I can’t keep ingesting even liquids if I don’t get movement soon or else I’m really going to get bloated with a ton of unwanted and dangerous pressure and that will be horrible so for now I’m just taking it super easy with what I put in my mouth except the hunger doesn’t go away.

You know while the story of my shower fall saving my life from this hidden cancer is pretty remarkable on its own I really owe the ER doctor for her making a quick decision to request a scan of my torso fearing a blood clot was the cause of my pain because even with the shoulder dislocation she could’ve just scanned my shoulders and be done with I still wouldn’t had known about the tumor.

Her decision that day in the ER literally saved my life not the fall.

The fall just lead me to her!

It’s really bat **** crazy when you break it all down.

I’m asking the surgeons to see if there’s anything I can personally do for that ER doctor something better than just a simple thank you. Surgeon is part of the hospital staff he’s lifer there and I also have a previous professional connection as well I was chosen by them to be in their commercial for their new ER rollout lol

I should’ve donated all of those collectibles to her lol

How expensive are full-body scans anyway? If we could have them on a more regular basis how many such hidden cancers would be caught before they spread? Pancreatic cancer in particular seems to be an absolute bastard to catch on time. When people find out it's there they're already ****ed.

CatScans and MRI can cost up to $5k each.

I’m sure she’d say that not donating boxes of your man-baby toys to her is thanks enough.

(Seriously tho, my old man gets a lot of gifts from patients and the ones he really loves are the personally written cards and letters that tell him a story about the difference he made.)

One of the crap things about having kids is worrying about when you might be leaving them to fend for themselves. I caught up with an old college buddy a few weeks back who went through a cancer scare - he was told he either had weeks to live or he’d be fine, depending on whether the tumour in his neck turned out to be benign or not. And he wouldn’t know for two weeks. Turned out fine, but that’s a helluva two weeks.
