His hair is still "gold" but it's not the BIZARRE gold it used to be. My original Jedi Luke is in the box so I can't tell, but its very possible the legs are re-used. Chest is ALL new. Butterfly joints are good but not as deep as Deadpool's.

I almost thought this was a re-work of a Jabba's Palace WIP they showed years ago, but for that, both hands would need to be flesh and he didn't wear the belt on the outside at Jabba's Palace. So more likely than not, this is a LOT of new tooling, especially arms and chest.

I'm not so familiar with Jedi tunics and what he wore in Jedi vs Mando, but it SEEMS right....could just be Jedi though. The experts will chime in on all the finer workings of his details.

So far I'm thrilled...I always felt that first Jedi Luke was a let down (should have been Death Star II Luke anyway, and even though you can't take the vest or belt off, this is just a more solid and fun figure. Like I said before, the hand options are great!

Saber seems identical to that very first one, from the stupid way to change the tip, to how it hans on the belt. Just has that "fwoosh" option now. Still, as long you keep an eye on that little bitty tip piece, should be OK....
Yeah, it’s such a relief that it’s not that straight up gold they were using there for a minute. It looks like they figured out how to do that kinda “sheen” they were going for without the incredibly odd decision of making it look like someone’s hair was just straight up metal.

It’s really funny that we had a lot of the same questions/concerns about it, I even can’t find my original Figuarts Jedi Luke to compare it when mine comes either, haha.
To be totally accurate, the saber should be new to reflect how the design changed in Mandalorian so that when he’s wearing the hilt, the control box is facing outward instead of inward.
I’m not a total Jedi robes expert, but from your pics, it looks like the innermost layer is a lot more Death Star II than it should be, the whole upper body of the costume from Mandalorian was more layered in that kinda classic Jedi robe samurai-ish way. And the texture of the tunic parts seems a little over done, they should be kind of closer to the pants or the sleeves. But that all feels a little
nit-picky and doesn’t bother me too much.
So I bet you’re totally right that it’s a major retool/update of that old Jabba’s Palace Luke they displayed ages ago (that I can’t seem to find a picture of).
I can’t wait to get this, though!
I wish they’d do a Bespin Han and Luke, too…
Maybe someday.

The one your thinking of was a Figuarts Zero which has no articulation and was basically the original Return Luke minus articulation.

Gotta admit I'm not a big fan of these "swwooosh" effects...they look kinda dumb to me.

Luke's new left "beckoning" hand is great. He's Beckoning grogu....it' like poetry...it rhymes. (Til they reunite two epiodes later.)

As for the costume, I know it's not right cause it's more Jedi than Mando, where they seemed be to tossing whatever they had laying around from Episode III. It' alll works for me thought. I was never the time to pause a get a yard stick and see how long his tunic openings laid.

I will say though....I am a biiig sucker. If they did a bare bones Luke Training Grogu like in that episode, where he was wearing soft velcro boots and not pirate boots, and essentially wearing Japanese pajamas with a sash.....I'd buy it for how unique it was.

I called it "Jedi Casual." Second to last ep when he send Grogu Home.

SAME. The robes not being 100% Mandalorian accurate doesn’t bother me so much, but I’m a total mark for anything Luke, and I’m especially glad we’re getting a Luke this good at all. Really psyched this seems to have come out as well
as it did. I also just have a soft spot for Figuarts compared to Figma and (most) mafex stuff.
This being kind of a middle ground between Mando Luke and Jabba’s palace Luke will make for some easy customs, too, and that’s a good thing. A lot of folks are gonna throw a brown cloak on there and call it good.

Is the hood really that puffy or can you even it out so it doesn’t look so high on his head

It's a BIG old puffy hood, but the front of it is wired so with some futzing you can get it just the way you like it.

Brown hood from the WalMart Jabba release should work just fine too.

Here's some pics I posted on rebelscum to show the difference between hoods....to be fair, my brown hood was in a huddle in a corner somewhere.

And one more pic I showed, just in case anyone wanted to try to get experimental, was using the hand from "Clockwork Orange" Alex on Luke.

Anyone else in the US have any experience ordering from Amazon Japan? It’s my first time buying with Amazon Japan and my order has been on preparing to ship for longer than I would have thought it would be, but maybe that’s normal?
Im just worried something went wrong with the charge to my card or something. 🫤

As usual, those soft goods look terriblek even with all the futzing in the world. A total waste of resources plus they make the figure more expensive. Nice Luke though. Seems like a different team worked on the sculpt than whoever did Djin and Boba.

This is the money shot! You don’t have to settle for the puffy hood , it’s workable :clap

Crazy how the difference between these two is night and day

And I actually liked the ROTJ version but this version is my go to jedi Luke now for 6’

Got mine in just now, I was a little sad he didn’t come yesterday (Doctor Strange did instead), but totally blown away by him. Took a couple shots without even getting him in the photo box.

One of their best figures in a LONG time. The soft goods cloak is a a mixed bag though. Its mostly terrible. The hood won't stay in place and it's incapable of being "posed" in a relaxed manner. It's definitely great for action poses, no doubt about it. But the hood, when up, still sucks in that situation too. It at least looks better than the beach towel they gave the last Vader's. But once again, it's strangely on the short side.
