That Gambit turned out great. It must be a dream come true getting this, being a fan of the character!
And what Knightfall Azrael is that? I don't think I've ever seen a 1:6 version.

Yes it is. no joke, I was literally dancing in the house when I got Gambit.
my wife was laughing at me cause she said I looked like a kid who got his christmas present wish. Lol
it’s a grail piece.

Speaking of grail pieces, every once in a while, the stars and moon align, where not only do you get 1 grail piece, but two.
this is custom Knightfall Azrael by an Asian artist named Hannah Li.




My rule in collecting is, would I be extremely disappointed if I miss out on the figure? If the answer is a big yes,
then I get the figure, but if the answer is I’m ok if I miss out, then I pass.

well, one of those pieces I regret passing is the prime 1 studios 1/3 knight fall Azrael. I passed on it cause at the time, I stopped collecting bigger pieces and just stick to 1/6.
I was very disappointed on missing out on this statue, and every once in a while, I still watch reviews of it on youtube to live vicariously to those who own it.
I believe they only made 200 exclusive, and 300 regular. Very low number, and I only found it one time on the aftermarket, at popcultcha, but the price I think was $1700, plus since it’s in Australia and its 1/3 scale, I believe the shipping was $400-500.
so it was one of those, one that got away.

one day, I was watching the prime 1 review again, and I thought, hey, since my black chrome armored Batman is a variant, maybe I can repaint it the Azrael suit color.
so I started to look on eBay if I can find a clawed hands, or pieces to make it look more like the knightfall suit… and lo and behold, I saw this for sale.
I wasn’t aware of it, so I googled it, and looked for custom Azrael and I found Hannah Li Facebook and instagram, and saw these pics…





I knew I had to get it.
the auction had a make an offer option, so I made an offer during the weee hours of the night, and couldnt sleep for fear of someone else making an offer and miss out again on an Azrael suit, cause you can see there were a number of other people that had it on their watch list.
Knightfall is one of my favorite batman storyline.

so when the seller accepted my offer, it was a huge sigh of relief. I finally got my Knightfall Azrael.
Eventhough I missed out on the prime1, in a way, this is actually better for my collection cause it’s 1/6.
its an absolute beauty. The colors, the engineering of this figure, its a true work of art.

so this past few weeks have been amazing for my collection, as I got two grails within a few weeks.

Wow that is awesome to hear. It's great when grails like that come to fruition.
Knightfall is actually my favorite storyline as well, just that I'm at the opposite side, and I want a Knightfall Bane in 1/6. He's been my longest custom in the works (since 2012 ), but somehow I haven't been able to find the right parts to finish him. I'm still hoping one of these companies like SooSooToys makes a proper Knightfall Bane one day using a new large muscular body (like those Inflames Wu Song bodies).

We're on the same wavelength.
I'm also looking for a proper Bane.
A couple of weeks ago, I did a search and got excited as I thought I found one, but it turned out
he was only 1/10.

I do hope soosoo toys make it as they are filling the void that Hot Toys have neglected.

I spotted her work earlier this week. Azrael’s one of my faves, and I don’t think we’ll get any official 1/6 figures like this anytime soon.

Where was the auction? (And if you don’t mind me asking, the winning bid). I’d love to see what I could add as well.

I will PM you about the price, as usually, its not appropriate to discuss custom prices openly.

huge milestone in my collection. I’ve often said to friends when talking about collection, is to someday
own a 1/3 prime 1 studios.
that day came last weekend when I finally got my Prime1 Hush Batman.
for me personally, this is my favorite because of its dynamic pose.
due to many limitations of 1/6 scale figures due to potential damage, I’ve often admired the poses
that look so natural on statues.

this is also might be bittersweet.
The goal was originally having this is my centerpiece with a couple of other statues, then my 1/6.
But I have been also really thinking a lot about switching to statues.
whenever I look at collector‘s display on YouTube, I’m always gravitating towards statues.
I’m heavily leaning to potentially switching to mostly that, Which means selling some of these 1/6 to get the statues I want.
have a lot of thinking to do.

Ladies and gentlemen, I now present you…

So this has been the Remy Cave for the last couple of years. This is actually collection Cave 2.0 as version 1 was at my previous home. When we moved in the house, was trying to figure out where to put my collection, and my wife suggested the alcoves beside the living Room Fireplace.
If my memory serves me right, I think I went through a great purge at the time to get rid of many multiple figures of the same character and I think I was down to just two detolfs.
But of course, then it became three full detolfs, then to four. First occupying just the fireplace's right alcove, then now the left alcove. And now, my focus is on statues.

I dont really want the Main living room to look like a collection room. It was ok for awhile when it was just 1/6 figures as there are plenty of space to fit in the alcoves beside the fireplace. But now that the focus is on statues, its taking up a lot of space.
So I decided to move the collection room upstairs. Have a dedicated room for the collection.

So, Remy Cave 3.0 is currently a work in progress.
Hoping to finish painting the room soon.

So much space now in The main living room as all my collection and work desk are now upstairs.
That work desk in the living room was just supposed to be there temporary. lol
I work half the time at home and I used to just use the laptop on the dining table. When my wife upgraded her desk, I took her old desk and temporarily placed in the living room where it remained until...well, recently. Lol

My knees are so sore going up and down the stairs bringing the figures one by one.
Then getting the detolfs up there. And disassembling some of the statues as they're so fragile and bringing some of them piece by piece.
Lot of work.
