This is one of those figures that people are gonna regret not getting.
That being said I got my deluxe from hk at the start of January, the wait with sideshow is a bit of joke

Even as one of the few people who enjoyed the movie, my excitement for this figure has vanished completely by this point. I'll still hold onto my order since it's a cool looking figure and I love anything Gal Gadot, but the wait for the deluxe has been so long that I'm really struggling to care at all about it now.

I'm just as excited to get this figure, if not even more so. I disagree about them dropping the ball on the head sculpt. Yes, the promo pics turned out horrible, but those were proven to just be poor pictures. Any video you see of her and seeing her in hand, she looks amazing. That's why the demand for this figure skyrocketed after more people got this in hand.

I would agree though, if you don't feel a connection to this figure or you aren't excited about it, then definitely don't waste your money on it. I can't wait to have her on display with those giant wings!

Headsculpt is literally the same. How the hair is styled has a big impact. You won't get proto hairstyle on these $300 mass produced figures.

Yes, this is without a doubt, a very gorgeous piece. But keep in mind that the metallic golden paint will start to flake in 3-5 years top. I‘m most certain of it because I used to own one of the gold cloth figures (Saint Seiya). The paint of the gold cloth started to peel off. When it happen, you would want to put it back in the box and never want to look at it again.

Regret is such a strong word. I think I can live without it. Like I say in the movie. It had such a small screen time which hardly makes it memorable. The disappointment on the likeness in the final product of the head sculpt is what really killed it for me.
You have absolutely no way of knowing if the gold paint on this figure will flake.
Your experience with some other random figure from a different time and a different manufacturer, painted with different products really does not tell us anything about the quality of paint on this figure.
The gold armor will be just fine.

My thoughts exactly. He ranted and raved about when his order was going to ship, only to cancel it and then tell us the figure isn't any good. Bizarre.

That’s why i passed on it. Went for the Queen Studios statue instead.

I dunno... the QS Golden armor is 3x the price and has a much weaker likeness and very dull gold paintjob.

Oh it’s definitely pricier, but i like the paint finish personally and at least i know it won’t look terrible in a few years. Had it been chrome paint i would have passed on Queen too.

I’m sorry if my rant on this figure is upsetting you collectors but a 500+ dollars figure, it has to be perfect to my eyes. I had a fair share of collecting HT figures, and every one of them has some flaws or defects. A fine reason to order from SS is that they will send you the spare parts to get it fix within the 30 days purchase date. HT are prone to poor QC. The intricacy that was put in the GA figure will have some defects on arrival…. So yet… sorry about my complaint… In other words…. To delicate for a complex figure like that. Now the sculpted WW face is absolutely stunning! A work of art! Doesn’t not feel like a Barbie like GA!

To keep things in perspective, those prototype shots of the sculpted WW84 headsculpt you just posted will suffer the same downgrade 10 to 25 percent in paint quality that disappointed you with the Golden Armor headsculpt.

To be honest I wasn’t impressed or fond of the golden eagle armor but because the face on the sculpt from the promo was so damn gorgeous and likeness to Gal was 100% accurate, I had to PO it. But then when I saw the final product, it was a big step drawback (I must had compared the promo shots and the final version shots back to back many times to spot the similarity but ….. it was like a different face, yes it’s the same sculpt but the aurora and glory was gone as it was like generic Barbie doll). It went from 100% to 70% likeness. I‘m importing this to Canada and with the discount promo, it came around 351.08. And with 200 dollars Canadian currency rate and duty fees, this thing may easily go up to 500+ plus a figure! If I really love something that much, I will not hesitate to pay high price for it. For instance, I paid 1000+ dollars from Hasbro to ship my Robosen Optimus Prime which was 700 bucks 🇺🇸 at the time. I thought it was well worth the price. Anyway back to the topic, I have high hopes on the sculpted hair of WW traditional outfit, because to me that has the strongest resemblance and likeness to GG in comparison to the GA we got!

Lastly, this is a frivolous hobby that I can easily pass up
Bye.

We will see… hope they’re saving the best for the last!
