Unfortunately, that's just the new norm - whatever the market will bear.
It's like $1,000+ for 1:4 statues, $6/gallon for gas, $2+ Million for an ordinary home (in Silicon Valley), etc.

Mine typically include a lot pre-order items, it’s just always either high-ticket items or less popular figures. The popular stuff one might actually want is all excluded now.
Yeah the price would have been absurd 3 or 4 years ago, but we're living in a totally different world now.

Every brand is going to start raising their prices unfortunately, Covid messed it all up and everything is raising in price, R&D, materials, manufacturing, distribution, you name it, it's completely out of people's control, an aquantince of mine who releases third party stuff had to pack their latest figures at home not only because of Covid but the factory had raised their original price to do the packaging, you need to understand if people don't start raising their prices then they will be releasing every figure at a loss.

And it’s probably different in different countries as well. Some countries I would guess are finding it harder to source materials than other countries and that will be raising prices as well. Factor in things like likeness rights etc and I’m totally not surprised by these increases. Jez it costs me $4AU for a small cup of coffee now!

Yup, and I forgot to mention retailers will have started to raise their shipping prices as well, it's unfortunate but we have to accept it.

This angle looks pretty good to me, just a few small changes is all it needs. But I'll buy it even if it stays this way lol. The price is ridiculous but that's expected, I wish I could see a trendline of HT price increases the past 5 or so years lol

Well I would hope wages go up just never relative to everything else. In Australia wage increase was 2.5% last year and cost of living was 3.5%.

There's definitely stuff they can tweak on the sculpt, but looking forward to some regular pics of the proto outside of the over-shopped promo shots.
I can see them doing a Toy Fair EX of Yelena, tweak the hair on the sculpt they already have, pick an outfit and done $300 in the bank. Something to tide to her next real taking-over-the-Widow-mantle suit. I have the white suit on pre-order but it was basically free with the last of my points, so that's just a bonus figure

Not really sure why people are shocked about the price. Just a few months ago, people were blown away that the Bucky Barnes from Falcon and The Winter Soldier was $250, and then a few months later Yelena was $270. It's the new normal, unfortunately. Even once things eventually do get back to normal, and I suspect we're still a while from actual normalcy again, these prices won't go down, they'll just stay stagnant for a bit before rising again.
I just consider myself fortune I have a version I'm happy with of just about every character I genuinely care about. I'm only missing a few I feel I absolutely need to have, like Bespin Han, Mace Windu, a good Aragorn, John Marston, and a small handful of others. Between running out of display space and rising prices, I'm glad I'm in a place that I need to start being choosey.

Just went to pre-order this on Kit's site (since his pre-order windows are always so short) and saw she's not up there, is that normal for a figure to be up on Sideshow before Kit? Giantoy didn't have it either. Definitely would prefer to order from one of those places and not Sideshow. Don't care so much if I go with Giantoy, but I would like to order from Kit if possible and like I said, I know he cuts off pre-orders pretty quickly.
For the price they could have at least thrown in some of the many trick arrows they used during the series. Unless they're saving them all for the Clint figure, which I wouldn't really count on happening either.
