Only the shoulders are positive upgrades. I thought the belt was just not adjusted correctly, but he purposefully moded it that way? It looks worse; it makes his thighs look thicker and crotch too long.

Raymond Fong's modifications to DX19 (Login • Instagram) from OneSixthRepublic:

What you really need to see before anyone even receives a figure is mods to fix it hahah, but this looks great. The headsculpt I don't think has been modified and it looks great here. Biggest improvements from the mod seem to be the Traps and the general increase to his thickness. Hopefully there's an easier way to get that increase to the traps outside of a body swap or cutting the costume open.

Also interesting, DX19 body vs DX12:

Now that’s The Dark Knight I remember.

Based on the screenshots from the previous pages, the belt only goes that low in one of them. The rest shows it's positioned slightly higher.

Did he put the DX12 shoulder armor on the DX19?
I don't think so. I mean technically they have the same shoulder armor so maybe, but what appears to be different is that the under plate has been cut off and glued under the top plate further to make a more convincing two piece look. I've done that too.

For my shoulder product I may try just making an under plate then the customer can cut off the molded on secondary plate if they prefer that to messing with replacing the whole thing.

Unrelated: I always laugh at the small group that just hate everything about Rises. Especially when they often uphold Batman 89 or Snyder films which IMO miss the whole point of the character. Rises is my favorite because I think it's still the only inspirational superhero film. I do think TDK is a better film but for me it's close and Rises has moments I love so much that I still like it more. I have similar feelings about ROTJ except I think it's a much worse film than ESB and yet I still like it more somehow lol.

My ranking:
1. The Dark Knight Rises
2. The Dark Knight
3. Batman Begins
4. The Batman
5. Batman 66
6. Batman 89
7. Batman Forever
8. Batman Returns
9. Batman & Robin
10+. Anything associated with Snyder

Oh, OK, thanks. Looks like a different plate. Does look better.

How have people modded the traps on their dx12 or armory bats? Do you need to heat the chest armor to mold it and then pad the area so it doesn’t go back to its original shape? I’m willing to try on my dx12 so I’m comfortable updating the dx19 whenever it finally hits sideshow.

Wait no you're right. It's a custom plate people have been adding in China for a while, not sure where they're getting them. Raymond is a huge customer of mine and I follow him on IG, I think I saw a post that made me think he wasn't using the new custom shoulders but I guess he ultimately did.

Personally there's something about the predominance of that lower lip that I don't like. Plus I really want a proper 2 piece design for my own.

No matter how inaccurate that MMS is, I still like that figure just b/c it and other releases around the same time were the initial turning point for this scale I think. Seeing it is pretty nostalgic

I feel the same. In a weird way I still love the prototype for the original mms version. If we ever actually got this I think I'd still be relatively happy with it even with its inaccuracies

I don’t like this meme opinion.

A gimmicky Batman movie that barely has Batman in it and a schlocky Star Wars movie with dancing care bears. For shame.

Always thought it was cool how this proto had the Original Costume Begins headsculpt, just with the neck cut off. Very cool.

I'm confused by the height difference between this and DX12. Why is the scale changing? 1/6 scale means that should never change unless hot toys screwed up how to divide by six.

Bale is 6 feet tall, add 2.75 inches for these ears, add another inch for the heel (which is perhaps generous because having stood next to him I think the 6 foot figure is already including his shoes, but I digress...) we arrive at 6 feet 3.75 inches. 75.75"/6=12.6" which perfectly matches the listed 32cm for this figure. Except that the old DX12 is ALSO listed as 32cm tall officially by Hot Toys on their site. Obviously in photos so far they don't appear to be the same height.

Taking a quick measure of my DX12 seems to put it just a pinch under at 31.5cm, so how tall is the Dx19? It looks potentially 1 whole cm taller.
Maybe one is slightly undersized and the other is slightly oversized.

So they can get people to buy the same figure over and over again.

I’m really disappointed Hot Toys chose to scale down the inferior QS001 cowl instead of the superior QS001 Jeff Goldblum as Batman prototype cowl.

So has everything with the DX19 been made slightly larger then the DX12? What I mean is are the DX19 baterangs slightly larger, the EMP gun etc. Or is it just the figure itself.

Doesn’t look so bad. I ordered it along with the Batpod. Both of which I use to have but got rid of because I was collecting statues instead. Will be glad to have the pod and bats back in my collection. I got Java back a year ago.

So I don’t really want to get back into 1/6 collecting but what I will do is collect the big and little set pieces. Keeps me from spending so much and I can still collect other things. I’m hugs FansToys but these days.
