...You know, I wonder if Disney told them "no" on the wrist stump/severed hand, because that's too violent for the kiddos nowadays.
Possibly but I also don’t think HT needs Disney to make excuses not to do things because they are so good at doing it themselves.

Is there any confirmation of the deluxe comes with both bases? I’m going to wait for my rewards points to drop to get this as cheap as possible.

Empire is my favorite Star Wars and top 5. I sold the empire Vader as the face mask is not accurate. I’ll be getting this doghouse, and hope that they release that QS Vader shrunken down for the 40th of Return of the Jedi.

Disney should embrace this. Doesn't this make Luke the first disabled Star Wars hero? I guess it also means Karen Rey stole a disabled man's identity, so I suppose they don't want that kind of publicity.

geeze an extra $60 for a reused vader headsculpt and sorta lame extra base? I mean I guess that's less than what those two parts individually would go for on the secondary market, but still. That's gotta be cheap for HT to reproduce

I POd the Deluxe. I don’t care about the wrist stump/battle damage. This is the first time I’ve actually seen the “supposed best“ finally get the likeness right on Luke, so despite the gross price gouging, I’m content.

I will get deluxe. I’m sure there is a better price and an extra six months to the wait out there somewhere:) Don’t have DX7 and ESB Vader is lonely.

This makes me wish I didnt sell my empire Vader, but then I see pictures of it and say to myself, oh yea.

It's a weird portrait for sure -- at some angles in some lighting it looks dead on, then it just sort of disappears for me in other photos. Still better than DX07 ... well maybe not the BD, that one was awesome even though the paint is outdated now.

If that's all the exclusive comes with I'm cool with just the standard. And it is funny how they are using the Mandalorian S2 Luke sculpt just different hair. Lol
I didn’t notice that until you mentioned it. It is!

I’m not 100% sold on this figure yet. I don’t see ESB Luke in this sculpt. The tailoring isn’t quite right either. For that price it should be perfect.

Current Star Wars killed my enthusiasm for ALL Star Wars so I sold my entire Hot Toys Star Wars collection shortly after Rise of Skywalker.
Only held on to the DX07 because in spite of my newfound disinterest in Star Wars I admire that set as a landmark in the action figure world.
With that said…I can’t believe that Hot Toys can celebrate this release when compared with the 07…
2 whole figures AND a weather vane for a significantly lower cost???

Nah, it was probably to keep costs down but also to further separate this and DX07 which they usually do when redoing a character like DX01 and DX11.

It also made sense to include it in the DX07 since it had a full battle damaged body and sculpt. This one is very clean.

Also kids don't buy these. And even if it's not real, a severed head is technically a bit more gruesome than a meaty stump. :lol

I don't think the price is terrible for where we are now, relatively speaking. And at least they made a pretty cool new stand for this instead of recycling a boring one. And you don't even have to pay for the Deluxe to get it.

Regular figures - often with less substance - have been creeping closer to $300 for a bit now so maybe some of us are just used to it.

I understand, but DX07 came out a full decade ago so it's not exactly a fair comparison. Everything cost a lot more now; especially collectibles.

No one is happy about it, but that's just the reality unfortunately.
