Prime 1 - Ripley (Aliens)

I really want to like this.... but I just don't see Ripley in this face, which for me is the key point of these high-end collectables.

Despite the shortcomings with the likeness, I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as people are making out. Some of you are acting like it looks nothing like her lol. For me its obvious who it's meant to be, she just looks really young. They'll probably tweak it though.

Still, it's not like we are spoilt for choice when it comes to Ripley. She may never give out her likeness again. This might be all we get as fair as Ripley statues go in her likeness.

im not concerned about likeness, im more concerned about the paintjob once it gets put through the factory. ever since i got a blitzway x prime1 statue and seeing pictures of the 1/3 ledger. it has always come across as really soft, if not printed on and that is probably my main concern. im not sure if other prime1 statue's paintjobs tends to be really soft or not

Having owned both Sideshow and P1 pieces, I can say without a doubt they aren’t on the same level by any means. P1 charges more because they are better.

I have way more points than I thought I had. lol Thanks for the basically free Ripley, P1.
Now I have to figure out what other free statue I want from them...

I've never ordered from Prime1 before. Too bad to hear they don't take critiques very well. Seems like more companies now do address the issues that people point out and it does a lot for their reputation. IMO, everything about this looks great and love the base and bonus part. But I agree the likeness in the face could use a little work. I don't have a problem with the hair. Could possibly narrow in the head around the cheek bones and jawline a little more and the eyes appear like they might be set a little too deep and narrow compared to Sigourney Weaver's likeness. Could be a lighting thing? At the same time I think the angle of this image looks pretty good.

What’s approximate shipping costs for ordering directly from Prime 1 to the states? This will be my first P1 purchase

If I didn't drop well over $3k on the 1/3 Big chap yesterday, I'd be very tempted to just whack this on a payment plan today. As it is, I'm going to sit back and watch for now. I hear the critiques regarding the face, it isn't quite perfect, but it is still good. If they improve it, cool. If not, it's still a really nice looking statue over all. Shame I just entered the world of 1/3 with the JH & BC.

Ordered. This might be the only Ripley statue we get, and deposit was cheap enough that it's worth the gamble. If it turns out bad I'll just cancel it.

I bet the SS Warrior will pare well with this. I wonder if P1 will be doing more 1:4 stuff. This seems kinda outta nowhere if they only plan on doing this one piece...

I checked it and it said $58 for economy and $120 for standard....

Exact reason I ordered I just hope it turns out well. Their Dark Knight Joker was an abomination, I'm worried for this piece.

Ripley's going to look awesome in your collection, all you Aliens beware! Hold on to your eggs unless you like them scrambled!

It doesn't look bad but it doesn't look that good either. IMO they are charging the same price as Queen Studio but those guys are leaps and bounds better than them. See their 1/4 Loki and compare them to Ripley. One almost looks like a real person. This one is not and knowing P1 the the actual product will look considerably worse than this. All in all the proto looks OK. Prime 1 needs to step up their game if they wanna play football next to Queen.

Agree. Only reason I ordered this is because it's our only option for Ripley and we likely won't get another one. This will likely be my last Prime 1 statue.
