I actually defy you to find you to where I said 100% confirmed.

The obvious problem is that QS hasn't issued a public statement and it doesn't appear likely that they will. If that's what you want to wait for, that's clearly your prerogative, but don't tell me in absolute terms that my conclusions are pre-mature and suggest that I don't have the right to post a conclusion that was borne out of posts that I have seen here. It was not malicious, nor was it unsupported, and it was clearly a viable conclusion. Whether or not you agree, is your own judgement.

Clearly, there were issues with TW, that is not in dispute. In fact, the issues were so egregious that QS actually made an official statement on the matter. In fact, it was clearly pointed out that the cause of the official statement was, in fact, TW.

Subsequently, when the sales were reopened, there were a slew of posts made on that subject. Some of them were logical, others not so much. There were, however, key posts that were made and responded to by myself and others that supported my conclusion.

Kit further suggested that perhaps the reopening of the project was due to "the problematic vendor". Subsequently, I made a post that suggesting that QS was reopening to help out any "wronged" consumers from "the problematic vendor". Rather than post "no, that's not accurate, just wait for the public statement", or "I am in close contact with them throughout the course of this process and I can telll you that this isn't the case", he LIKED the comment.

And, as to the reopening of the sales window:

The post I made was clearly based on the aforementioned, along with all of the other subsequent posts that appeared to be supported by the only authorized QS distributor that bothered to take the time to post on this forum.

So there you have it. Arguably, the closest person on this forum to a QS distributor, who is in regular contact, either directly or indirectly, openly speculating that the reopening was due to wanting to make it right.

I've wasted all the time I care to on this.
No one knows Queen's relationship with the said store, it's not easy to issue a public statement toward one store especially they are linked to a popular youtuber who just interview with Queen not long ago

I bet Queen is new to the 1/6 field, they need time to learn and study.

I highly doubt the said store could place a deposit.

Time will tell

This is like the perfect storm of people who get nuts over edition sizes, perceived exclusivity, pre-order bonuses, FOMO, DC, Batman, and Heath Ledger Joker.

If someone out there wants truly limited items, there are better options out there. They should be buying it because they like it, not because they think they can have something few others can have.

It's interesting seeing this drama unfold though. But I'm not surprised seeing Toys Wonderland mentioned considering the massive headache they caused Jazz Inc.
Completely agree, I only ever buy an item because I really love it for itself - NOT for some sense of being in an elite club.
I have paid for customs, some limited figure runs with only something like 20 in the world - is that a neat detail? Yes, but its not the point I would be exactly as happy if there were thousands identical items made (maybe even happier as that would have lowered the price some...).
So what if the pre-order window re-opened? The more collectors that get the chance to partake in something good is a great thing, supporting a new and exciting company in this hobby is a great thing, giving people who didn't have the funds, needed more time to decide, or would like to switch their retailer is a great thing - I see only upsides here, this has no real negative impact on those who have already placed their orders so far as I can see.

Not everyone who cares about exclusivity is concerned about bragging rights or flipping for profit... some of them likely just want to be able to flip to keep collecting. If the only way a collector can justify dropping a grand is to have some reassurance that rarity will almost guarantee the thing can be sold for at least the same amount down the track then maybe some whining is understandable?

On the other hand, popular figures don't seem to drop their MSRP value... what was DX11, around $275? Even accounting for inflation, and what with all the bootleg options out there, it'll still net a profit on the after market. So maybe any whining is about bragging rights after all :lol

wish Queen would post more photos of their Joker.

Apparently Queen already warned them

It isn't 'rare' though. Sure, the 3 day window means that fewer people than usual would have ordered one, but thousands of people could still have pre-ordered the rooted version in those 3 days. It was an open pre-order for 3 days, not a limited edition size. The only angle I can agree with is making people rush into a $1k decision.

You know what Queen Studios noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan." Even if the plan is horrifying! If, tomorrow, QS tell the collectors that, like, there will only be a 3 day order window, or a rooted 2-pack costs $1000, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan". But when QS say that the rooted version is available to order again, well then everyone loses their minds. Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. QS is an agent of chaos. Oh, and you know the thing about chaos? It's fair.

If you looked at the thread on FB on the OneSixthKit group that this guy is kicking up a fuss in, you will realized he is just throwing a fit for nothing. Many asked him straight up if he is actually asking to cancel his order or what, he NEVER confirmed anything, but just biting on the fact that he has been lied to, and Kit should refund the NRD. To me, and NRD is an NRD, you commit to buy the figure, with that retailer, and you made the decision to do so and knowingly paid a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. That is what you commit to. And the fact that the figure is available again for more pre-orders later has nothing to do with your commitment to buy. And the way he harassed Kit is baffling, as if Kit is the one that decides to open up orders again (he even at one point said Kit could have chosen to not open the pre-ordering again, which is very entitled of him to say - 1. Kit should not keep his business going, 2. no one else should be offered a second chance to buy this. It is BS.
Someone should ask him if he would NOT have ordered if they had given him 6 days to order.

Jesus, some people in this space only want to complain. Get a life.

A 3 day pre order window does suggest that the figure will be available for only 3 days. The illusion of scarcity, which is a standard marketing ploy, may have persuaded people to upgrade to the deluxe to avoid FOMO, which is the name of the game in this hobby (if buying toys is really a hobby). Is it marketing strategy, plain old up selling or business naivety? Time will tell. I hope it's not a pump and dump scam, or we are all going to be out of pocket. I think it will all work out in the end.

Good old Toyswonderland :violinI'd be worried if I placed a PO on a $1000 figure with them. :lol

Given Jazzinc prices are quite expensive as is, I do wonder what benefits does distributorship have other than to having a middleman that can assist with logistics? I'm asking because it seems the price will significantly increase as obviously the distributor will definitely get a cut then there's another layer or 2 of shipping cost involved. I wonder how the profit margins are for Joost at the current price as he offers his products directly to consumer as well.

That FOMO is hard. I PO’d standard but now I am eyeing that deluxe set, since pre-orders are still open. For now. Waiting for in-hand reviews does not seem to be an option here.

As much as I like the movies, I thought I was immune to Nolan trilogy merch.

I still think any collector who collects with a main reason of owning something rare and not wanting others to be able to own one also is a jackass. That's my opinion, and I'm not changing it.

Getting your panties caught in a bunch for the borderline reason of 'right time right place' or 'I've got more money than you' or a combination of whatever is a crap take in the collecting community.

I only collect for what I love and how great the quality is. I receive, and hope that others who love quality and these characters were able to add one to their collection also.

Resell value is based on what an item is initially sold for at retail and its demand after the fact. In no terms ever will a company be able to produce a quality 1/6 for example, like QS rooted Joker, in such a high quantity that these will lose value for the amount of people who own one. The only way this will lose value is if it comes out looking bad - which it won't. And as more collector's enter the community the more it will be wanted. Letting what... another couple hundred people in the GLOBAL community have access to a collectible isn't going to do crap all to its aftermarket value, or in the grand scheme of things devalue what it's worth as a collectible. I'd really love to know how a collector thinks and views an item who does care about edition size. How do you view a collectible, definitely not by looking at it and thinking my God, there's only 12 of these. I understand the feeling of owning something rare, but it's such a tertiary accompanying feeling to an object. You've done nothing to marvel at its rarity other than click an order button.

I do see the allure of owning something that is truly unique-one of a kind-once in a lifetime...thing.

Like say if I was offered a chance to buy the actual Batman prop suit that Ben Affleck wore for a reasonable, albeit extremely expensive price, yeah, I would.

BUT! If I were also offered a reproduction, exact to the detail replica for an even CHEAPER-WAY MORE AFFORDABLE price (that’s also mass produced btw) I’d probably get that instead. I just want the suit because it’s bada$$ looking...besides, the prop suit is probably all stunk up with Afflecks testy sweat...

Look, I’m not about to kink shame anyone, but if Afflecks testy sweat is the main driving force behind purchasing that actual suit...I mean...I personally don’t find prestige or pride in knowing that the thing I bought still has someone’s dried up bodily fluids...but to each their own right!? I suppose “signatures” come in all forms?

As I said before, IMO, unless a particular item is autographed, I don’t see any extra value in it.

You must be so proud of yourself..

It just brings up the question of why they opened the preorder for that one deluxe set option in a limited (72 hour) window in the first place. What was the purpose of that? All 3 set options should have had the same preorder window of a week or however long they felt the project needed. It doesn't serve the customers in any way and, more importantly, affects the retailers' business adversely when the manufacturer is flaky with their product protocols.

I don't mind that the deluxe set was offered up again - I made my commitment to the project by preordering - but as we see here it just creates confusion, possible distrust and needless speculation on the company's motives and practices. I don't suppose we'll ever know why QS did this, but it may affect collectors' faith in the company/brand, and considering how small the collecting community is that can be a substantial loss.
