Im not 100% certain on the strength of 3D prints but Im guessing its all a bit fragile to print hands that will stand up to being plugged in and out of figures. I reckon just taking normal sized generic hands, paining them a lighter colour, then paining on things like the "veins" in the hands and stuff and it would like fine from anything but really close up.

Im saying this as Im learning about paining a custom Mando Im working on and what works close up compared to far away and what you can get away with.

Head sculpt painting would be a bit beyond me. Im good at paining armoury and weathering it, but thats where my skillset ends at the moment! :-D

Check out our unboxing of the Hot Toys Emperor Palpatine on throne & Classi Suit Spider-Man. Thank you to Sean & Jose or the greats show!

Finally painted my replacement hands to match the HT head. I just felt like the HT hands are too big compared to the head, and also a little fat. It's hard to get a good pic showing the skin tone as it appears - either a bit too pinkish or a bit too white/pale.

Original robe, or Sideshow's?

Will take any Prequel Palpatine/Sidious at this point. Surprised they haven't done one yet. But ROTS seems most likely if it were to happen, which could be a dual The Clone Wars release if they include the hooded robe.
Very true, though the colors and pattern is a little different in CW

Sideshow Palpatine set from ... 14 years ago...(!?) still looks ok actually. I know the hot toys purists would laugh at my mixing that set with Anakin or obi wan, but I think it's an ok set. The i longer I've been collecting the more certain I've become that Howard Chan is really not interested in representing every character.

Besides the great rotj version the only other Palpatine figure I'd be interested in is his sith cult appearance in episode IX. He was the only good part of that movie imo.

Silly goose, why would Hot Toys give us a figure of one of the most important characters in the series when they can make Death Watch Mandalorian?
