Rex arrived from TW. Still dont like the green.
How did you pay for yours, all at once or did you make payments? I made payments and according to my account, shipping was in the payment but now they say I owe for shipping. And their customer service sucks a**! I've been playing e-mail tag with them for two weeks on this d**n figure! I will never preorder anything from that sorry company again!

@Darth KirBayBey I made payments. Yeah the shipping is weird. It was listed as something like 95HKD when I pre-ordered, but then they invoiced me around 500HKD when it came to actually shipping it. It's a bit scummy, but for me they're still cheaper than UK sites.

I just have it hold the leg if they're not in flight pose.

I don't think posable arms are anything to justify the price, but it's baffling that they just don't include both types.
It'd be nice if they included both supports, but Hot Toys has been cutting costs wherever they can. And apparently that means only one stand support and fewer hands on top of fewer accessories.

That said, I don't think the choice of either standard support or dynamic flight pole affects internal pricing considerations, especially for troopers. The 501st standard has a dynamic pole and the Coruscant Guard has the standard support but both are the same price, and the same price as the Mandalorian Scout with the older style sand base and support.

I think the actual rationale is probably worse, because including the dynamic pole just because the character has a jetpack is likely just Hot Toys doing what they think is best for the figure. But they're absolutely wrong in this case, and in the case of pretty much every Star Wars figure with a jetpack that has one.

I think most of us here would prefer a regular support instead of the dynamic pole if we could only have one. I see a lot of people making do with just the base with no support.

And I just want to note that I find it baffling that Rex and Ahsoka come with light gray bases but then the 501st, Coruscant Guard, Jesse, Vaughn, and Mandalore Maul are all on dark gray bases and DAMN IT HOT TOYS AT LEAST BE CONSISTENT WITHIN THE SAME LINE.

Sorry, sorry. I am just really getting tired of buying extra stands to get consistency. I know it doesn't bother everyone, but boy do the choices Hot Toys makes with their Star Wars stands really get to me.

Yeah that's what they are trying to do to me. Seems kinda shady if you ask me but I'm committed at this point. I just won't ever preorder from them again.

But this is my argument: if base price of $300 is going to be the new thing, they DONT GET to bleat about cutting costs. that is a fortune and we deserve every value for our money.

Or, OR!!! Stop selling figures with a stand at all, offer a variety of stands and we can buy those seperately, mixing and matching at will. I would almost rather see that, i would like to pay for a stand that I like and that meets the figures needs. Instead of what they decree we should have.

So I know some might think this belongs in the Cody thread, but if you scroll back a bit some noticed that this part was gone from my Cody/Rex image--turns out I didn't lose it forever--found it shining at my eye in the corner of my carpet! With some steady hands, needle nose tweezers and a small amount of super glue, Cody can be restored!

I actually wound up packing away all my stands. I agree with others frustration about the lack of consistency in that area. The mix of sand, grate, floor, hexagons, and rectangles makes the collection look bad.

I think they should have kept the oval shaped OG black stands and then just do overlay Dio scenery, that way you can keep the overlay in the box and have a consistent look or use Dio pieces interchangeably as you wish

I’m actually really relieved to hear that! Congrats, Potatoes. That’s quite the find and some eagle eyes.

Praise be whoever hasn’t been vacuuming the carpet thoroughly. :lol

Lol. I tend to have all my figures, parts and spare headsculpts at work, and the floor is vinyl tiles, so it’s easy when I drop something on the floor.
But I can imagine what a problem it would be if you dropped an accessory on carpeting.

Seriously! I just want this Rex already haha.
I hope it is at least here before Xmas when I will also be getting my 501st DLX.

I would love the option to pick my stand. I grew tired of the oval stands and prefer the newer rectangle stands with nameplate. But I also prefer the tops to have the texture application like ROS Rey's sand base or the Fantastic Beasts stone style stands. I think all or at least most of us hate the mushed cookie footprints stand topper. I do like the grate topper though.

Yea, inconsistency in stands really bugs me no matter the company. I've gone back and bought new stands and had custom nameplates made so that my figures can look right with each other.

With that said, I think Dam/VTS Toys currently make the best dio stands that also have a metal style nameplate.

It’s absolutely the worst for Star Wars.

It started off pretty well when all the figures were on the grated stands, despite the colors changing around.

Those are the best since you can position the vertical support at various points to accommodate figures close together in a tight display. And, you know, they matched.

Now it’s utter chaos.

I wish they were all rectangular grate or plate stands with optional toppers.
