Hey guys,
Hoping someone can help me here or put my mind at rest. A few years ago I bought the Sideshow T800 life size endo V2.0. I cleaned up the battle damage but lately I have noticed that the statue seems to lean to the left when looking at it. I'm not sure if its always been that way and...
Wow you are observant! yes I did. Noticed these cables on many of the screen used endos that were missing from this sideshow life size
Got it pretty close I think using standard metal braids for plumbing and bent the ends
On some endos they also have braids coming from the leg pistons and arm...
Thanks guys. Not sure if V2 is triple plated like the V1 or not but yes it is definitely chromed underneath. The only think that worked in the end was paint stripper. Tested on a very small part first then took the gamble and cleaned the whole thing. Took a lot of hours but I'm glad I did it...
Thanks for posting these pics!
OK good to know there is shiny chrome under all of this silver matt paint! I will persist!
I read somewhere for a bust someone used nail polish remover with acetone and it did no harm to the chrome
the V2 paint weathering seems different to the black paint...
Wow this is really a V2?
might have to research more how to do this then as the standard non acetone nail polisher remover with pads isn't cutting it
Would you mind taking one pic showing the entire statue?
Looks great!
Well I'm having the opposite problem with the finish on the V2 statue. Tried three different types of nail polish removers (all non acetone) and can remove hardly any of the weathering paint effects no matter how long and hard I scrub
It must be a different paint than the V1 and the combat...
ok so I tried a very small section with nail polish remover with no acetone and no matter how hard I scrubbed with soft pads I cant seem to get any of the weathering off. I looked at the bottle and it said "mild formula" so Im hoping that's why. hmmmm
Still hard to imagine chrome under all this...
excellent! thats what i was hoping to hear. Its just so dull i wasnt sure if there was chrome underneath at all!!
Would you mind taking some pics and sharing here so I can look at how it came out?
would really appreciate it
Hi all,
I have just bought the sideshow t800 life size endo V2. I have seen previously in this forum people that have used non acetone nail polish remover to clean the battle damage to bring the polished chrome look back.
Has anyone attempted this with the V2's? I only ask cause the weathering...
