It looks like Daiki Kogyo did get the details right and it does look very tempting. For this much I think it would be an affordable alternative to a high end replica, and with a little refinishing it could be made to look like one, too.
The Tomenosuke Pro die cast metal kits still turn up here...
Actually Dave, I really haven't had the time to read these or any other of my favorite forums like I used to, but of course you are absolutely right. In fact I've probably already made a lot of people unhappy, and they've never even had to spend a dime on this! :lol
You kind of make my point...
Well, the artist who was going to do the actual build of the prototype based on my drawings is still around. I got a message from her on the AL forum a while back. It'd been a few years since I'd heard from her, and she made no mention of this project.
I don't see what harm there'd be in...
Haven't posted here in ages but it's really great to see the interest here is still alive and well. Great pics, too! :clap
Looks like I have a LOT of catching up to do!!! :lol
Hi Dave,
First of all I want to thank you for leaving this thread open for so long.
I believe pjam started it, and even though he hasn't posted here in years, I don't think he's ever suggested shutting it down, or written the project off completely, at least as far as I know. The fact that...
Some of my old pics of the original HT Vietnam Stoner MG SEAL sculpt "disguised" as Hicks, and the genuine FML reworked "spikey hair" Hicks sculpt, (painted by FML). Yours does look like FML's Hicks to me. No way to tell if it's an original though as the details in the pics are kinda flat...
While it's obvious that both of these projects are all but forgotten, I don't think the Chris figure project and this one have much in common besides that.
Your original idea for a collaboration of board members here to honor Chris by making a figure of him and presenting it to his wife was a...
VM said the Nexus 7 costume was tailored for the Triad Alpha body, but I'm wondering if one of the new seamless bodies like Phicen would work. I think she'd look even better without the visible ankle joints, so I'll have to at least give it a try.
The regular edition of Rachael will include...
Some of us had to jump or forever regret missing out...:panic:
Now it seems VM will be releasing a limited number of Nexus 7 Rachael clothing sets with unpainted resin sculpt & Deckard's M2019 sometime soon though, at price point that should be more attractive to those who didn't go for a full...
Scott,
Since this will be the first female figure you've offered (AFAIK), I'm just wondering which figure body you've decided to go with. With all the new seamless female bodies available, any chance you're going with one of those? A new Phicen model would probably be perfect for her.
That makes two of us. Had a shot at one about a year ago but it fell through, unfortunately.
I like the idea of kit bashing Angel Eyes... looks like it would be a lot easier to do now than it would've been a few years ago. I already have two Angel Eyes head sculpts to choose from (Rainman &...
Thanks! It's good to hear from you too, and especially that you're still hanging in there! I hope there are more people like you and Mike who are patiently biding their time until this thing is finally ready to happen. That kind of encouragement is more helpful than you may imagine!
"Necklace" had me thinking of personal accessory, not gun accessory! So you want a pic of the beads & feather hanging from the muzzle of his SG then... I do have a pic of that somewhere as well. Again, please be patient though, as I have a lot of Aliens pics to sift through which have not been...
Re: New Figure Project- "Nexus-7: Rachael"
Scott, great to see you're working on that shot glass after all! I started work on a similar project of my own during time off from work, based on my collection of 1:1 BR props. I'll PM later on to discuss some ideas with you. It would be great if we...
