While I do prefer certain aspects of the original 30cm '62 (talking about the hands here), the FSL is truly breathtaking. It's an honest-to-goodness work of art.

Amen. It's really underappreciated, designwise. Not to mention the fact that Nakajima gave some great performances in that suit.

Can't wait to get my hands on that '65! Phooey on anyone who says it was a step down from the '64 suit. Baggy is beautiful!

I'll take that Kumi Mizuno Matango piece any day. 😍

Man, those are nice! My girlfriend would definitely not be pleased if I got them, though.

I was thinking to myself that a lot of collectors might be too young to remember those old Kaiyodo kits, but they all got rereleased a year or two ago, didn't they? 😏 Well, nevermind.

Personally, I've been wanting to see them do Sakai's '84 and MM28's '65 and '74. However, since Sakai based his '84 on the Shinjuku suit and MM28 did the suit from the power plant scene, there's always the possibility for both. Rumor has it that companies like to make money...

Haha! Nice. The ol' tree-in-the-mouth wins every time. And like you mentioned, it was the set of long arms that really got my attention. Hopefully X-Plus does do something like that in the future...

This is turning out to be a heck of a year for KingGoji. So far, there's the NECA, the S.H.M., the X-Plus FSL figure, and now Yuji Sakai has a new kit coming out (that will undoubtedly be adapted by X-Plus at some point)...

At the very, very bottom of the page there's a section with direct links to each of the other versions of the site.

Sakai's always cost a little more, and it seems like X-Plus is really putting a lot of effort into this release. Their page specifically talks about the care they're taking with the molding.

Heys, guys. I've been lurking around this board for a while, and have noticed that a couple of you have mentioned Awesome Collector. Are they reliable? The Sakai Shin Godzilla just went up for sale on the Ric site, and I really don't want to have to go through eBay to get it.

I bought a couple of Kaiyodo's Sakai kits back in the mid 90s, and botched them spectacularly. Haven't tried my hand at modeling since. Thank goodness X-Plus started licensing his sculpts, and doing all the hard work for me. Incidentally, if any of you guys haven't seen it already, you...

The PR Kaiju suffered, I think, because of a lack of individuality. Aside from this-one-can-fly or this-one's-really-really-really-big, I can't recall anything that truly set them apart from one another. By contrast, Japanese Kaiju tend to have either distinct looks or distinct personalities...
