you can hide the wires quite good. Drill a hole in the middle of the hilt -> lead them away behind the hand as cover -> up the arm sleeves and you can barely see wires :) the missing "tip" is only visible in bright daylight. But the cathodes are so bright, that in dimmer light they "overframe"...
