Garrett was a great character, but man I HATED that in order to have the uniform be from a Starfleet half a century in the future they... *checks notes*... made them not wear the white undershirt.
Some of the angles they show in close up with the head tilted up and the eyes dead set on the camera do look funny I'll admit 😄 But that 3 figure pic with Anakin's head tilted down, looking off to the side, plus young Snips and Obi-Wan show exactly why this works so well for me.
What you have to remember is that this isn't Clone Wars Anakin to cover the entire Clone Wars and any action scenes he was in, this is Clone Wars Anakin as he appeared in the Ahsoka show being light hearted and training young snips.
They nailed that.
This expression is literally perfect for having him standing there with his arms crossed listening to Rex in a briefing, or standing with his arms behind his back or holding a saber while training Ahsoka. Much better than the zero expression mannequin faces HT have done for most of their...
I stand by the pudding bowl comment 🤷♂️ it should definitely appear tighter against his forehead and especially the sides as they go up the side of his head. It should be more of a 'rounded pyramid' shape, not an R2D2 dome. But hey, it's still an incredible figure and you will all be happy with it.
I'm so pleased they've done this, as I've never had a Jack figure before. The artisan is obviously amazing, and I love the real dreads and all the details including the cloth over the bandana... but one thing I can't unsee (and part of the reason I went with the standard, as well as cost...
Good lord this back and forth is exhausting
I have to ask though, how different does Paul look in Dune 2. I keep seeing it said that "He's older, he'd need an older looking sculpt" - when the film takes place in like 6 months or something. Just how much older is he supposed to look...
The first thing I noticed is that the shoulders are far too round and bulky far too low down on the sides.
TNG shoulders are supposed to be straight across the top edge from the neck to the corner, and then straight down.
DS Studios was me (Darren) and Nanjin (Schubert). I did those sculpts and while happy with them from certain angles, I always struggled with symmetry and head size on what werev essentially my first full head sculpts.
Despite our plans for me to work on all his future figures, I had to back...
Yeah I thought the same until I came into my studio the other day to find he'd base jumped off the top shelf. It's *mostly* fine, until it isn't. I still like it though.
