    Old Man Logan

Recently reread the original miniseries my self and am now working through the collection of follow up series. Not as much of a fan of those. Logan dumps the Hulk baby right off the bat. Guess the less capable writers that took up the story couldn’t figure out how to tell a story with a baby...

Kaustic Plastik/Infinite Statue 1:6 Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera Figure.

With as little hair as the Phantom has, sculpted was definitely the best route. He’d have likely ended up with too little hair or way too much hair if they went rooted. It’s really only an added benefit when the character has long hair. Shorter hair is much better sculpted.

Kaustic Plastik 1/6 London After Midnight Figure

Yeah I think the hat is pretty essential. Same with the lantern. With the film being lost there is only so much to include with this guy without taking liberties like they did with Lugosi Dracula. I passed on the Lugosi grave since it didn’t work as a logical display piece. Hopefully they don’t...

Kaustic Plastik 1/6 London After Midnight Figure

Well those words are coming back to bite me. Will be $300 for a couple of hands and base for the bare bones standard figure. Hat will be a website exclusive and lantern part of a deluxe offering :lol

I do worry if they turn enough people away we might not see any more monsters come to fruition. Seems Wolfman is likely to be next and thankfully with him he doesn’t have an obvious large diorama piece. He could be bare bones and just fine. Maybe swap out Talbot parts like NECA but nothing truly...

Kaustic Plastik/Infinite Statue 1:6 Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera Figure.

Yeah the non-deluxe Phantom isn’t a great value. A base and some hands is really bare bones. $200 more for the organ and accessories isn’t bad by comparison but it is still a very expensive set. And the exclusive even more so. The exclusive version probably being the best value, but the highest...

Yeah I anticipate a bit of blow back on that mask situation. It would have been better for them to keep quiet on answering any questions about it if they wanted it to be a surprise for the preorder. Saying it wasn’t included and might come in an accessory pack was either a straight lie, last...

Yeah, I’m not a fan of all the games we have to go through these days just to be able to order something. From Hasbro to Hot Toys there is always some hoop to jump through. I’ve just gotten accustomed to it I guess but I don’t enjoy that aspect of the hobby. Rarely do I ever see anything I...

So much for the mask not happening:lol Well, I placed my order for the exclusive this morning. 180 is a low edition, even if it matches the demand. Not going to wait on ordering as it may not last long. I think Nosferatu had a similar exclusive edition size so I’ll be curious if the Phantom is...

I emailed KP this morning and got a quick response: Good morning. This time in Usa it will be distributed Deluxe and Standard version only. For exclusive version it will be available only un our Website. Regards Kaustic Plastik So it looks like if we want the exclusive we will have to...

Good to know they are actively pursuing it. I can’t imagine the Universal Monsters are exactly a hot commodity right now and clearly KP is making some wonderful monster figures. Unless Universal has unreasonable terms or is trying to distance themselves from the original looks in favor of their...

Kaustic Plastik/Infinite Statue 1:6 Lon Chaney’s Phantom of the Opera Figure.

I wonder if the mask could have somehow fell into a license issue? Maybe Universal somehow has the rights to that prop? Did Chaney design the mask? If so, that probably would mean it belongs to the estate. Seems like a big omission if there wasn’t an issue including it. I’d personally have liked...

The organ didn’t have visible pipes in the film. It’s up against a stone wall

Ah, interesting! Licensing is so fascinating. Nowadays all that gets buttoned up really well but these older properties that couldn’t have even predicted what might come in the future are usually a hot mess. Hopefully KP can be more like NECA and play nice with Universal so we can get Karloff...
