What do you guys think is the going rate for the CM Pred is now a days? I haven't seen many sold since I sold mine a few years ago

I would say 4-5K. Nothing out there has surpassed in terms of quality, scale and details. On top of that Steve Wang as the sculptor has nostalgic value.

Looks awesome!

Regarding the going rate, if anybody really wants to sell one of these, I'd probably be doing it sooner rather than later. If the CP/P1 Predators are half as good as their Aliens, the ridiculous current asking prices on these may not be sustainable once faced with such competition...

I'm actually considering buying one. It's already repainted and has some modifications to the crown sculpt that I like. It may cost me $4k even to pick it up. It might not hold that value, but I really wouldn't want to sell it even when Prime does their version. Ideally, since I have the SS maquette too, I could display that with mask on, CM with roaring head and hopefully a closed mandible sculpt with the Prime when it comes out.

I think I might wait if I were you, azurepred. At least to see how P1 is doing.
In fact, I saw Cinemaquette's in person many years ago and not amazed by it cuz it kinda looks like a big fiberglass statue (to me), also it is an artist's own interpretation of the character. I'm a 100%-movie-accurate-only unless it's a $200 doll or totally awesome in my eyes so...
Plus, the scale of this and SS maquette is kinda off too. Why not wait a little more when you can hold it all this time?

I actually had one before, and if the one I was gunning for wasn't heavily modified, I wouldn't even consider re-acquiring this. His modifications defn brings it closer to movie accurate. I wasn't planning on displaying them next to each other, and chances are Prime won't do P1 for at least 2 more years.

I wish I got this one. It's still the best Predator statue. I always hope they will try a Predator 2 version.

Sadly Cinemaquette is off making the most impressive and expensive uncollectable collectables no one wants to buy these days

Yeah I do wish that too but CM only makes 1 character from each line. I’d owned this piece 8 years ago. This is my 2nd time owning it. I had regret after reaching a maturity in collecting. This time it’s staying for good.

lol, your basically right. Unfortunately, one has to be rich to be able to buy mass amounts of their products and with the market being so saturated, the obscure characters that they are best known for have a hard time keeping their value. I really enjoy collecting the types of characters they make over say the thousands of Marvel/DC stuff that is out there, but it's those superhero statues that hold their value so much better.

I love the scale and quality of CM, and their obscure movie licences are great if you're a fan. Too bad they have a rule that does themselves a disservice as far as one and done with licences go. They've dropped the ball and others have picked it up and run with it.
Now they make 2k octopussies in donuts. Go figure.

I guess I was talking more on the lines of ECC since CM doesn't make anything cool anymore lol. ECC doesn't play by that rule thankfully, but almost everything is $2k+ or close to it :gah:

Really only 1 character from a line? I didn't know that. There goes my hopes for a Predator 2 version. And I guess that means only one Jason. I was hoping for a Part 6 version.

Cinemaquette and Elite Creature Collectibles are different businesses. CM distributes ECC. ECC doesn't seem to have the one statue only "rule" that CM does. None the less the chances of a Predator 2 are probably nil due to CM's rule and Steve Wang retiring from Predator sculpts. Another Jason is probably unlikely too. As much as a sculpting genius I think Steve Wang is, his 1:3 sculpts have all left me thinking they should of been better.

I don't know man. I think they've put out a lot of great sculpts. Which ones that are finalized do you think could be better?
