Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

It doesn't change a thing as far as XM is concerned. Their pieces will still sell out because of the low edition sizes on their merch. However, anyone in the U.S. is now going to have a much harder time securing XM pieces. Our Singapore board members are already swamped with requests for XM pieces and are usually only able to take care of their best customers. Peeps that are looking to pick up the occasional XM statue were already squeezed out of the game. Now, things just got messier for those of us outside of XM's territory. Flippers are having an instant orgasm after this news dropped. Basically, unless we know someone in Singapore personally (or someone in their sales territory), the aftermarket is about the only way most peeps will be able to buy XM merch. I already know I can't afford to go that route.

Now time is ticking to find a 'good' shipping address

Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

Makes it much harder to get XM statues in the U.S. for those not in with a private distributor. I wonder if XM's list of other sellers are going through this as well?

I'm pretty sure all the XM official retailers are going to have the same restrictions as Simple Toys. I think it's just a matter of time before we start receiving letters from them. This will probably affect BBTS and Speculative Fiction also... :(

Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

I haven't received any emails from ST yet about my Thanos order.

Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

Are there any reliable package forwarding services in Singapore?

Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

I'm not a fan of a lot of XM Studios' stuff, but I don't care at all for the license restrictions SSC was apparently able to negotiate. This prohibits competition, which keeps quality lower than it should be, and costs higher than they should be. Oh, well. Marvel agreed to it, so they're getting what they want.

Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

Shoot me a pm if anyone decides not to keep their thanos or Phoenix from simplytoys. I'll pay you extra for it lol

Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

If that's the case then I'll end up saving money, I'm assuming GR will be $1-$2K so I'm out.
I spoke with a source/distributor via e-mail about GR about 2 weeks ago so I'll have to see what they say.

I did.

Anyone happen to know if customs fees have to be paid by the recipient in Germany if an order is shipped directly from XM to a friend in Germany?

Im so mad at all of this. Who can I complain too. Can we write to Disney. I dont want to mention any of my sources because it seems some people wanted nothing more than to see XM fail. Well I hope their happy now. This is a major loss for the hobby

Re: SimplyToys No Longer shipping XM WorldWide

I'm sure SS paid for exclusive rights for 1/4 scale distribution. While it sucks they have a monopoly on 1/4 scale, it's Disney/Marvel to enforce the rights SS has. No amount of complaining or letter writing is going to do anything. XM will be fine. SS doesn't want them to infringe on their exclusive rights. If ST selling XM merchandise is forbidden, then its SS job to notify Disney and it's Disney's job to enforce. It's how a partnership works. They are a for-profit business, this it what they are supposed to do. It certainly sucks, but XM will be fine selling in the places they are allowed, and U.S. customers will have to suck it up and pay more. Just like any other import.

Yes, write to Disney that a company that was selling/shipping outside of the zone they paid Disney to sell/ship to was told to stop. I am sure that well go over well.

This was all bound to hit the fan. They have a very limited license, and were pretty openly flaunting it. I doubt it took SS to rat on XM, when they were so open about it. I am sure Disney would be happy to take their money if they want to pony up for a bigger license though.

I keep hearing people say they were flaunting it but not once did I witness that. I had to work pretty hard for all my pieces and non were purchased at retail. I dont see how Disney or SS can control a retailer like simply toys. Im pretty sure they can sell to whoever they want. Im not a licensing attorney but I do have my JD and imo sounds like XM should lawyer up. I can easily see some of these foreign entities getting punked around because they dont have the resources to fight it. Im not on the inside so I could b way off but it looks to me like disney sold a limited license to xm. XM only sold within their territory but outside retailers chose to ship outside the territory at a small markup. I dont see an issue.
